If you are a member of our Cole and Marmalade – I Love My Cats Facebook group, then you have likely seen Kiki and Chocolate.

These 2 lucky cats in Malaysia are “served” by human Ken-Boon Teoh and his expecting wife. (CONGRATS!)

Beautiful 8-year-old Kiki, was just a young kitten when she was found crossing the road one day. Ken-Boon had been on his way to buy groceries after work when he spotted her.

After an emergency brake check to avoid a collision, Kiki simply jumped up onto his car. She had no microchip or owners that came forward to claim her.

Knowing she chose him, she’s been with his family ever since. She loves snuggling and running wildly around the house.

Chocolate is a handsome 5-year-old male.

As a stray kitten, he was wandering alone outside and hungry when he stumbled onto Ken-Boon’s property.

They gave him some food and after that, he refused to leave. And that’s how it happens!

He still likes to hang outside when he can and since the area is perfectly safe for him, they leave a window open for him. In famous cat fashion however, Ken-Boon states:

“I have an opened window in my house but he will not use the opening to come into the house. Instead, he will always meow at the front door and wait for me to open it before coming in. And meows more in victory of successfully getting me to open the door for him to come in.“

Ken-Boon helps bring smiles to group members daily with his silly antics, ongoing kitty sagas and well wishes for all.

Since March, we’ve all been delighted to share in his crazy cat man lifestyle. Although he’s always loved having pets in his life, it wasn’t until his college years that it really sunk in.

During a break one year, he stayed with a friend who happened to have an orange and grey tabby. Bonding closely, he accepted he had the crazy cat gene.

But he just earned himself a “next-generation, over-the-top, BONUS level crazy cat guy” achievement in our minds!

Feast your eyes upon KIKI’S AND CHOCOLATE’S HOUZ.

The mind-blowing creation was born of Ken-Boons desire to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”.

These days up-cycling is certainly an art form!

He had hundreds of plastic DVD casings lying around his home. Simply throwing them away would just create more unfriendly waste that he wanted to avoid.

And just like that, the spark of genius was lit.

The idea began small. He would use the cases to make his beloved felines a cat bed.

I mean, even though we all KNOW they’d be just as happy in a simple cardboard box, we will never stop trying! HAHA

Some ideas, like Ken-Boons are even a success!

The cats loved the pillow lined plastic bed that they could feel safe in while still able to see through the walls.

With STACKS of DVD cases left and the cats apurroval of the materials, he knew it was time to think bigger.

Boy did he ever! His final creation consists of 133 DVD CASES!!!

Ken-Boon first constructed walls made up of rows of glued together DVD cases.

Always filtering his thoughts through his “Catified Cerebrum, he added a few windows to the structure.

The roof of the meowsterpiece was given a little extra special touch as well.

Heavy duty cardboard mailing tubes were stacked and supported by wooden posts and metal framing.

This gave the design a unique peaked roof. He then laid out open DVD cases, overlapping the edges to form the tiled roof effect.

Of course, the floor to the cat palace is lined with their favorite material…cardboard. Ken-Boon knows how to keep his cats happy =)

But was the house done? Nooooooo….to be a certified crazy cat guy, you need to take it to the next level.

The house needed to become a home, or in this case a “houz”.

Decorations were needed to purrsonalize it for Kiki and Chocolate.

A sign was hung above the front door to let everyone know just who ruled the roost.

Photos of the adorable feline duo were framed and mounted on the walls.

Comfy cat bedding, toys and even a scratching bed provide the furbulous furnishings.

The over-the-top touch that earned Ken-Boon the bonus points?

An installed light that shines with his love upon the celebrated cats!

But do Kiki and Chocolate approve of their new plastic playhouse items?

They sure do! =) That is of course when they aren’t snuggling on the couch with their dedicated humans.

Both cats were there with the arCATect throughout the entire process to provide invaluable input.

This wasn’t the first building/craft that proves his love for ALL his fur-babies…and likely won’t be the last.

The family also has an almost 5-year-old, female pup named Zoey.

Chocolate and Zoey grew up playing together. They play less when Zoey got to adult size because she would always lick Chocolate wet with her love. But they are still buddies”.

In what some group members have dubbed his “male nesting period”, he built Zoey a gorgeous dog kennel.

Of course he used recycled bed frames, mattress support frames and mangrove wood.

Thoughtfully, he included heat dissipating roof materials to keep his pup cool in his tropical country.

We know that the Teoh and CaM families aren’t the ONLY ones who love to craft and build amazing creations for our fur-babies….show us yours!

I can ONLY imagine the catification that our fur-ever home will undergo some day!!!
