As much time and effort as we put into accumulating possessions, none of that stuff actually matters. What’s important is our loved ones, including our furry family members. That’s what we see in stark relief in a video shared by the Los Angeles Fire Department. When a home became engulfed in flames, what mattered most was a senior cat inside named Cheetah.

Firefighter Save Beloved Senior Cat Cheetah

We have often seen heroic pet rescues by firefighters. But what sets this story apart is how the reporters caught the genuine, emotional reaction of Cat Dad on camera. He sobbed with a range of emotions which we can only imagine. This heartwarming reunion might bring tears to your eyes, too!

Isaac Wiseman had just moved into a home in the suburb of Tarzana, Los Angeles when the unthinkable happened. While he was away, a fire started on the evening of Monday, July 25, 2024, possibly in the home’s attic. By the time he arrived on the scene, flames and smoke were shooting sky-high from the roof.

Right away, anyone would instantly know everything inside the small home was ruined.

But the only thing Wiseman cared about was his cat, Cheetah. Approaching the firefighters, he pleaded with them to save her from the fire. Quickly they dashed back into the flames, luckily somehow finding the cat. You can see the heroic fireman carrying the kitty to her Dad, who took her from across a fence.

As is plain to see, Wiseman was overcome with emotions and relief, falling to his knees and sobbing.

Despite suffering from smoke inhalation, Cheetah can be seen giving her Dad some comfort.

We can only imagine what that moment must have felt like. But we can all relate because we love our pets so much and couldn’t bear the thought of losing them either.

Incredibly, the fire department shared that the rescue was one of 510 emergencies they responded to on the same night!

He Adopted Cheetah 14 Years Ago for His Daughter

Isaac Wiseman gave his daughter Cheetah as a kitten 14 years ago. After a divorce, he promised his daughter that he would always care for the kitten, which he has.

“She’s actually my daughter’s cat. We adopted her together, but then after my divorce, I had to keep her. I promised my daughter I would take care of her,” said Wiseman.

“And you did just that. Together with the firefighters, you were able to rescue her,” replied FOX 11’s Gigi Graciette.

After the heartwarming reunion, Isaac took Cheetah to the vet, where they treated her for smoke inhalation. They were hopeful she would recover after a 24-hour stay. We send our love and purrs to Cheetah and her Dad and wish them the best! We know his daughter will be so proud to see how much he cared for the cat he gave her all those years ago.

And, as always, thank you to the Fire Department who put their lives at risk when we need them most!
