As we all know, shelters across the country, even the world, are loaded with cats and kittens. Many times, it’s unfortunate that these precious babies cross the rainbow bridge before ever finding their furever home. Getting just one cat adopted is hard enough, but two, even three?

Arlo, Adler, and Ava’s Beginning
Over a year ago, in March of 2021, three kittens named Arlo, Adler, and Ava were at the Purrfect Cat Rescue, Inc. The rescue is located in Crystal Lake, Illinois, on the outskirts of Chicago. The not-for-profit shelter also specializes in a no-kill and cage-free environment. What a purrfect place for the trio to end up!
Here’s how the rescuers described brothers Arlo and Adler at the time:
“Meet brothers Arlo and Adler! Boy oh boy, are they cute!! Six months old and very bonded. Give them a moment and a chin scratch and they are purring so loudly you could probably hear them in the next room!”
As kittens, the trio was spotted by mother and child and knew they just had to have them. All three were adopted together and in their forever home, or so they thought.
Fast Forward to Today
It’s now been a little over a year, and Alo, Adler, and Ava found themselves back at Purrfect Cat Rescue. But how did this happen? Didn’t they go to their permanent home? Unfortunately, the trio was surrendered by their owners due to a divorce. They were now back to square one. Arlo, Adler, and Ava are now young adult, playful grown cats. Who would ever adopt the three of them together? Their new mom and dad, that’s who!
Family Drives Through Storm to Adopt Them
The three cats’ new parents were so excited to adopt them after seeing them. It was love at first sight. They even almost drove through a tornado to get to them!
“So much love and happiness in their new home…we couldn’t be more thrilled! Mom and dad were so excited they practically drove through a tornado last night to get them. Thank you for giving them the forever home they deserve together!!
,” Purrfect Cat Rescue shared.
Now that’s some furry parent dedication! Arlo, Adler, and Ava got new names! The trio’s new yummy names are Mac, Cheese, and Tuna Sandwich.
The three cats look so scrumptious and cute no wonder they got some comfort food names! After all, cats are the best comfort ever. The rescue posted the story on Facebook, and it went wild!
“What a lovely family! Best wishes to them for a long, healthy, tornado-free life together,” one Facebooker user said.
Another Facebooker noted, “What an awesome story. And good to hear that original owners brought all 3 back to your shelter where you guys cared enough about them to make sure they got the perfect home for all 3 of them. A happy ending.”
A New Forever Home Together
Pretty sure this time Mac, Cheese, and Tuna Sandwich aren’t leaving mom and dad’s side!
