My mobile clinic uniform for the day, in honor of this amazing cat and his family who loved him so much. Together they have such an impact on raising awareness and support of everything from feline health care, feral cat management and welfare, increasing support for black cat adoption, and many other efforts that give veterinarians like myself renewed faith in the pet-caring community. Rest well Cole. Job well done.
This pic was a few years ago when I got to go to Chris Poole’s home and hang out with coleandmarmalade (and their humans). As they, and so many of us around the world, mourn the passing of Cole this week after a brave battle with cancer, this moment brought a smile to my face thinking about all of the love, laughter and cat education he helped bring to the world.

Yesterday Jessica Josephs and I loaded up Cat Man Chris cat mobile and went on a rescue mission to save 15 kittens for runawaysanimalrescue

If you haven't heard the news, Cole of coleandmarmalade passed away yesterday.
He had been fighting cancer for a while with treatments like chemo and Cole finally wanted to stop fighting. They put him to rest yesterday.
Cole and Marmalade were probably the first famous cats I ever followed or even heard of. Their dad catmanchrispoole rescuing and TNRing kept me interested in their story.
I'm truly saddened Cole lost his fight with cancer. I'm heartbroken 💔 for his family and for Marmalade.
Goodbye, Cole. We miss you.

He has unknowingly saved and helped so many cats all over the world and brought smiles to the faces of humans on a daily basis.
He is so loved, as are his parents who have been such amazing friends and huge supporters of Chalky’s from the beginning. 100% family.

I have been very upset upon hearing this probably because I am reminded of when we had to say goodbye to our own black house panther, Salem. Although it was 2 years ago we are still trying to cope with the devastating loss now.
All our love goes to Chris and Jess, Jugg and Zigzag, and of course the ginger ninja Marmalade. All of whom will undoubtedly feel it hard having raised Cole from a baby. Love everything you guys do for cats and kittens.
