For those of you who grew up watching the TV show “Lassie”, we know that when a dog wants you to follow them, it’s usually for a reason. For a couple who recently appeared in a video by The Dodo, their pups had quite a bit to say. Their day started out as many do, but then they discovered the two family dogs were actually focused on one important topic. But they weren’t sure how to relay the information.
It was a young kitten hiding out in a shed that the family dogs had heard meowing from inside!
Figuring there were chipmunks inside, they filmed the dogs intensely investigating their handiwork. It’s fairly common as the two adorable family dogs are actually the stars of their own small YouTube channel; Dog Life.
Nico decided that she would follow the family dogs around to see what had them on edge.
Every time she called them in from the yard, they kept emerging from the side of the “renovated” shed. So when they began to wander back into that direction, camera in hand, she tagged along.
But then it all clicked.
Mango and Maui had been trying to tell them there WAS an intruder, but the baby had remained silent as the massive beasts circled the safe shed. It must have been terrifying for the little cutie.
So Scott and Nico jumped into action. Pulling open what basically what most storage sheds consist of, they laid down a bowl of food. They could hear the small sound as soon as they entered, but there wasn’t much room to go any further.
Luckily, it wasn’t long before a tiny grey and black tabby girl stuck her head out from behind the obstacles.
They were able to grab her and get her into a carrier. Thankfully, she wasn’t injured in any way, but they still have no clue how she arrived there. Perhaps she snuck in to find shelter after being abandoned or separated from her mother.
But there was another problem, Nico is severely allergic to felines, which is why the family dogs don’t have a kitty-sibling.
It was only a week or so before the incident that an acquaintance had experienced a life-opening moment.
And only a few hours after the family dogs had led their humans to the rescued stray kitten, that kitten had a forever home!
As soon as Ginger had seen the little girl’s furry face, she said “That’s my cat!” Her and their mutual friend headed over to the Sohn’s house to retrieve her newest family member. Even face shields couldn’t contain their excitement!
“I think she rescued me”, factually states Ginger.
“It’s been a long time since I had that love for something so sweet and tender and innocent.”
But oh my goodness! Ginger has been filming her new little house tiger, ZIGGY and look how happy she is out of the shed! Gotta say I’m a bit partial to the name too. HAPPY LIFE LITTLE ZIGGY and thank you to everyone, family dogs especially, for saving this one tiny little soul.
