Should a mouth injury be a cause for euthanasia? In a crowded shelter, where resources and people are stretched thin, it often could be. Even a bad bump on the chin could be the reason for a shelter to add a kitten to the euthanasia list despite being otherwise healthy.

It’s a tragic situation, but independent rescuers are always working to save imperfect kittens from such a fate. They know they deserve a chance for happy lives, too! With support from their followers, cats get some veterinary care and a path to the bright future they deserve.

Tarot the Kitten Draws the Luckiest Card

This is the story of a magical house panther named after Tarot cards. It seems she drew the luckiest card pawsible, arriving in a foster home for imperfectly perfect rescues. A new friend, Ouija, the black kitten, was waiting. Like her, he had an imperfection: he was born with wonky hips. But nothing holds him back from having a happy life either.

“Oujia is waiting patiently for his new friend to arrive,” she shared.

Their foster mom, Brenda, works with fellow rescuers to save kittens with unique needs. You can see more about these incredible kitties in our previous article.

Star-Crossed Pals

Finally, Tarot arrived, posing so beautifully with a yellow deck of cards.

At 12 weeks old, she was “super friendly” with a loud purr. However, due to her once fractured but since healed jaw, she needed expensive surgery one day.

Right away, Tarot and Ouija became best of friends. Maybe their star-crossed paths were always meant to come together that day?

“Oujia and Tarot have become fast friends,” shared Brenda.

Regardless of needing surgery in the future, Tarot was doing great in the present! Her jaw injury had healed considerably on its own. She loved playing and cuddling with all the other cats and roaming the foster home. Whenever anybody went to the bathroom, she was their mandatory escort.

If anybody sat down, she was a “Stage 5 Clinger” and loved offering unlimited affection. This kitten was indeed magical and unexpected. One day, she somehow scaled up the wall and surprised everyone, peeking behind the flatscreen TV.

The Most Beautiful House Panther

By November, Tarot had grown into the most spectacularly beautiful house panther. It was time for her to bring her considerable charms to a new home.

“Tarot recharging her crazy batteries in the sun. She is a sweet, playful girl that is my shadow. She also loves to give kisses and sleep on me at night and she is available for adoption❤️”

It seems the fates had a different plan for Ouija, and he found a new home in Florida. But Tarot found a new buddy, Maybon, who sometimes worked with her as a ‘Staircase Guard.’

The cute duo have since headed off for a new future together. At their new foster home they spend their time “reading aura’s, palms and Tarot cards.” All the while, they “supply an enormous amount of love.”

At the time of this writing, they may be looking for their ultimate furever home. Those interested can find out more about this beautiful duo on Instagram.
