Rescuers from Feline Friends Chicago shout out all the cats and kittens who have found homes since the New Year’s turn. It’s quite an impressive group in just a couple of weeks, showing how many lives are touched by their foster-based and all-volunteer efforts.

Here are a few cats that found homes, with many more available to loving homes in the Chicago area.

“We do not want this weekend to close without having the chance to shout out our Congratulations to the Kitties that have found their Forever Homes and families in the last two weeks. Cloudberry, Ruby, Tiggy, Ria, Mamie, Tommy, Payton, and Dewberry have all been adopted since the New Year. What a great way to start off 2023. We will miss all of these wonderful Cats, but saying Good Bye means that they get to start their new lives in their very own households,” they shared.

Beautiful Cats that Found Homes Thanks to Volunteers

So, let’s take a closer look at some of these kitties that have homes now thanks to volunteers in Chicago. Their purrsonalities are so different and they are all incredibly beautiful cats.

First is Maxine, who is quite a spectacular meowdel.

“Maxine is a princess. This fastidious floof has high standards—not just any toy, napping spot, or physical contact will do. Oh no. Her toys must use lasers with the brightest beams or dance using the springiest of springy materials. No ordinary cat bed will do. Hers must have a blanket. She demands only the best belly rubs and chin scratches.”

Payton the shy Tortoiseshell is another stunner.

“Little Miss Payton is nothing short of stunning, with a gorgeous, unique pattern! She is shy, and it may take some time for her to get to know you. Once she does though, she’s a real sweetheart. She will communicate with you through little meows, and she will give some headbutts if she wants head scratches.”

Here’s how they described Ruby, who reminds us of our own Jugg and Zig Zag, who are torbies or tortoiseshell-tabbies!

“Ruby is a precious gem. She’s not only gorgeous, but she has a very sweet personality as well. Ruby is a true companion- she likes to be where you are, no matter where it is. She loves to watch you work, helpfully watching the screen and eventually snoozing beside you on the desk. She also likes to cuddle, either next to you or right on top of you!”

And here is social butterfly, Tiggy the tabby who wants nothing more than to be with others.

“Tiggy is the president of the social club! From cats to humans, he just loves to socialize. He spends his days running around the house and playing with his toys, but his favorite thing is human time! He will walk up to anyone that enters the room and ask for pets, and he also loves to be picked up. If he spies an open lap, he will take the liberty of inviting himself to sit in it!”

Meanwhile, Ria or RiRi, is “one of the most lovable kittens around.”

“Ria might be small, but she packs tons of personality. Though she acts shy around new people and cats at first, she’ll be warming up to you in no time. You’ll find her playfully chasing after her toys in the mornings, sprawled out for a quick afternoon nap, or cuddling next to you at night. She loves to be picked up and is extra fond of having her neck scratched, purring to let you know not to stop! “

Fostering Kitties in Chicago or Anywhere

To continue saving lives like these beautiful cats, they encourage people to try fostering. Each one of these furbabies started a new life because somebody decided to try it. While it’s often hard to say goodbye later, the reward is seeing cats like these begin new lives. The rescuers often share updates about the cats they helped and their families that love them for a lifetime.

“If you want to help cats find their way to a forever home, maybe you will consider being one of our fosters? If you are interested in fostering or know someone who might be, we would love to hear from you!” they said.
