I’m not sure why it’s taken this long for this to happen. It may just be the greatest idea for animal lovers since treats were invented. And what is it that this specific group have to so desperately experience? Well it’s something that combines two of the most amazing things in the world. In other words, your favorite local pub and the adoptions of needy animals.
It’s a pub that serves mouthwatering food but also offers adoptions of local cats and dogs!
The brain child of owner Josh Wade, his vision came to life only a short time ago. Bark, A Rescue Pub just opened it’s doors on August 13th, 2020. But they’ve hit on a major success.

Whether it’s the animal loving families that live in the area or the deliciously unexpected pub cuisine. They happily keep selling out of their most popular item…and it’s not even edible.
People are rushing to make reservations online for the limited seating. 
Because down in the adoption center beneath the establishment, they’ve created temporary kennels for their most important guests. Partnering up with the Spokane Humane Society, visitors can actually adopt one of the sweet animals being fostered by the organization!
The area is set up to accommodate up to 9 dogs. As for felines, that number depends on the personalities of the cats in question. 
Bark, A Rescue Pub is a restaurant where guests can interact with and adopt shelter dogs and cats either before or after dining or drinks.
Visitors enjoy elevated pub food knowing their dining experience is providing help to The Spokane Humane Society.
Founded in 1897, the Spokane Humane Society is the oldest non-profit (501C3) animal organization in Spokane. We offer low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter services and adoptions.
If you’re hesitant that adoptions at a pub are going to work, they’ve help adopt out 100 animals in the first 30 days they’ve been open!
The local news did the story announcing the new business in the area, highlighting one of the sweet dogs named Sheldon. Subsequently, guess who the first pup to find a home was on opening day? 
Ginger fluff-nugget Crash was the first of the felines to find his furever family too not shortly after. 
And only a couple weeks later, they were already seeing the overwhelming response to Josh’s dream come true.

Now they love nothing more than to share the fun photos from the pub’s guests and “greeters”.
But even if you’re not currently looking to add a furbaby to your family, patrons can help by just ordering food.
Plan ahead! Wednesday is WAGday! Wednesdays Are 4 Giving! $1 of every item sold until 8pm is donated back to the Spokane Humane Society. Last month YOU helped us donate $1902 back.
Not to mention, it looks DELICIOUS! But don’t worry, they are very careful the animals visiting the patio area do NOT sample the wares.
And that includes reminding them they are too young to drink.
