They say that a photo is worth a thousand words. And that is certainly true in the case of Big Boi, Aka Mr. B, Aka Chonk, who found himself much luckier in his next life after being surrendered to a Philadelphia animal shelter.
We recently shared his plight with cat lovers, but so did many other cat sites and news outlets. And because of this, Chonk has found a place to call home. But that wasn’t before the Morris Animal Refuge’s website literally crashed thanks to 3,000+ applications which came pouring in almost instantly!
We know that many of us have a soft spot in our hearts for fat cats, but Mr. B is simply a much larger cat (although he will likely shed a few lbs along his journey). It seems that he needed to find the purrfect home that could accommodate his needs, due to recent discoveries in his condition.

Mr. B Update!
Mr. B received over 3,000 applications and inquiries! Our small, but mighty, staff has been working tirelessly to place Mr. B in the best situation possible.
Mr. B has some underlying health and behavioral issues that will need exceptional care and attention. Because of this, we have placed Mr. B with one of our dedicated foster families who has experience working with cats that have behavioral and medical issues. This family hasn’t just dealt with these issues in other cats, they have embraced them.
We will continue to work with this foster family to help them work through Mr. B’s issues. While the goal is to make this Mr. B’s forever home, the family will be able to provide him with a safe and comfortable environment while we learn more about him and his needs.
We want to thank everyone again for the enthusiasm for Mr. B. While we wish we were able to respond to everyone individually, we are a very small staff and don’t have the bandwidth to do so. We will keep everyone updated throughout his journey on our social media accounts!

Chonk, estimated to be roughly two years of age, is doing purrfectly fine in his new home—complete with cat friends!
We are thrilled to see cat lovers come together to give this sweetie a new lease on life, and we wish him the best of luck in his new home!
And remember, there are millions of other cats that need and deserve loving homes, consider adopting one so that they can have their happy ending, too!
