We love to share a spotlight on adult cats like Wanda, a pretty grey kitty with the brightest golden eyes from Vista, California. An independent soul like this beauty prefers a quiet home where she can shine away from the spotlight. But as with so many adult rescues, her wait took well over a year.

At over two years old, Wanda was beyond the wacky kitten antics phase. But that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy some ‘mellow playtime.’ An ear-tip shows she was caught through TRN (trap, neuter, return) rescuers. But then she wound up in a shelter where they labeled her ‘feral.’ Thank goodness, that’s when rescuers found her through their barn cat program. As soon as they interacted with her, they could see she wanted to be an indoor kitty.

A Simple Life of Snuggles and Naps

Once accustomed to indoor life, she preferred spending mostly quiet, quality time with her humans. All she needed was a safe place, a warm bed, and the simple things in life. In return, she offered companionship, purrs, cuddles, and unconditional love.

“…she’s a calm girl, just past the crazies of kittenhood, who enjoys nothing more than attention from her humans and a good nap. Followed by another good nap. And another. 💤 She’ll intersperse some playtime, human snuggles, and snacks or treats in there. But she appreciates the cat life of leisure—she’s just missing the human to love on! 😻,” shared Love Your Feral Felines (LYFF).

Despite her considerable charms, this beauty was still at the rescue 365 days, a full year, after arriving!

“Wanda has been with LYFF a full year today. That’s 365 days of watching other cats and kittens come and go—and wondering why her person hasn’t found her yet. 💔 With so many cats to choose from, cats that shine away from the spotlight very often spend longer looking for their families and Wanda is no exception,” LYFF shared.

A ‘Treasure Trove of Love’ Waiting to be Discovered

By 447 days, Wanda was still waiting for her family but making the most of it anyway.

“This lovely furball’s heart is filled with hope, but it’s time for her to experience the love and warmth of a family. Wanda is more than just a cat; she’s a treasure trove of love, ready to bring joy into your life,” LYFF shared.

An Incredible Family Chose Her After 454 Days

“To the incredible family who chose Wanda, you’ve not only adopted a cat, you’ve welcomed a true individual into your lives. May your home be filled with the soothing purrs, playful antics, and unconditional love that only a feline friend can bring. 🏡🐾” LYFF wrote.
