Life with a ginger cat is different, as Marmalade certainly certainly shows. We have come to expect a certain level of “ginger cat chaos.” In our experience, things are hilariously unpredictable when an orange or red kitty is in the house!
Sometimes, a ginger cat seems to be relying way too much on that one brain cell. Yet, we wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s a big part of why we adore comical ginger cats. And life is always more fun with these kitties around!
But if you are considering adopting from a rescue or shelter, don’t say you haven’t been warned. Expect the unexpected! And then, go for it!
Ginger Cat Chaos!
It doesn’t matter where in the world you find them: Ginger cats are a little different. For example, consider the story of a red kitten, Plusha, who was trying to survive in the garbage near a cow barn in Vienna, Austria. Fortunately, his luck improved when his future mama, Elizaveta Yadlovska, spotted him there.
Plusha peeked out from the weeds, looking quite pitiful. But Yadlovska, who already had two rescues at home, didn’t hesitate to take the sickly kitten home. After treating Plusha for an ear infection, he fully recovered and fit right in with the family. Well, sort of!
As Plusha grew, his ginger cat purrsonality emerged, and it was a lot! When not conked out sleeping in the bathroom sink, the kitty is literally bouncing off the walls and swinging from the light fixtures! Ginger cat chaos is most definitely in full effect.

Even when Mom isn’t in the house, Plusha manages to make his wacky vibes known. As she approaches the home from outside, he screams like a howler monkey. So, we can guess even the neighbors are well-aware there’s a ginger cat on the premises.
Plusha the Ginger Kitten’s Story
A previous video about Plusha went viral on social media. But this one wasn’t about how wild the red or orange kitties can be. No, this was about finding him by chance in the garbage that day.
As with her other rescues, Mitya and Millie, some people advised Yadlovska not to take a kitten from the streets. They said, “He will grow up ugly.” Yet you can see in the glow-up below that Plusha became quite the gorgeous meowdel.
“He’s a 10 but his brain is made of shrimp,” she jokes.
And as wild and unpredictable as he is, she wouldn’t trade her red cats for the world.
“We adopted three cats from the street, and they all grew up beautiful,” Mitay Cat shared.

Despite the daily zany antics, it didn’t prevent Yadlovska from adopting another ginger kitty. It seems the ginger cat chaos is quite addictive, and we should know.
Who knows what Plusha will do next, but he seems to be plotting something.
Like other felines, Ginger kitties just do what they want, but it’s often so extra. We live for it!
