Despite being so tiny, a healthy, solitary kitten like Seymour, is usually a force to be reckoned with! They may be small, but they’re packed with enough energy to unleash a mighty whirlwind. And although those teeth and claws are itsy bitsy, they hurt!
When a kitten isn’t conked out with a full belly, they tend to be up for anything. Generally, this means an all-out wrestling match with their siblings. But if a kitten is by itself, well, that means their wrestling partner is you! That’s why it’s a great idea to adopt in bonded pairs (or trios) is a real lifesaver! Not just for your skin, but you’re also saving another life while making your life easier in the process.
Suddenly Seymour! Kitten Appears in Busy Store
Brittany, a rescuer from Northern Virginia, got a big surprise in September. She was at a weekly adoption event trying to find homes for foster babies. But suddenly, she had to rescue another kitten found alone in the middle of the busy pet store!
Later, she named him Seymour, as in “Suddenly, Seymour,” from the Little Shop of Horrors comedy classic. Strangely, surveillance video from the store showed that a woman may have carried him into the store in a bag, released the little alien pod (if you’ve seen the movie) and left. As bizarre as it is, she walked right by the rescuers without saying a word to anyone.
“I wish the lady would have talked to us or even just left the bag on our table if she didn’t want to talk. We are so full and stressed but I’ve made room and he will get the best care I can give him,” Brittany said.
The pet store employees searched for any other kittens, but Suddenly Seymour was alone and, as it turned out, a little wild man!

Kitten Gone Wild!
A couple of days later, Seymour was ready to rumble. But since he was in quarantine, his only buddies were Brittany’s hands. He puffed up, spat, and arched his back, playfully wanting to work out all that energy on her tender skin. Since he didn’t have playmates, the kitten hadn’t learned when he was crossing the boundary into “Ouch!” territory.
“The kitten dumped at Petsmart is a prime example of why kittens need other kittens to play with. He’s very sweet, but he wants to play with me like I’m a kitten,” Brittany said.

Fortunately, Seymour’s antics had some breaks when he wanted to cuddle instead of play fight. But at a moment’s notice, he was ready to spring back into action.
“He makes me laugh every day and is the sweetest feisty little guy. When he’s not acting [crayzee] he’s cuddling in my lap,” Brittany shared.
Seymour found a favorite fish toy, and bunny kicked the daylights out of it, a welcome relief for his mom’s hands.

A Rare Quiet in the Storm
It was rare when Seymour was still for long, so Brittany caught it on camera for posterity. Although he was such a handful, he kept her laughing.
“Today is a cool rainy day in bed. These are the pictures of Seymour looking calm but he spent most of the time attacking everything and playing. He is a fluffy ball of pure energy 😻😹.”
“Seymour makes me laugh every day ♥️”
Even though he was a tiny terror, his foster mom helped him grow up into a wonderful companion for a new family.
“Once his quarantine is up and the new 6 kittens are also done with quarantine in 2 weeks, he will have friends. But until then, he has only me to play with.”
His new mom Heather adopted him in October, and he’s going to be spoiled forever!
“We are so lucky to welcome little Seymour to our family. He is perfect!❤️” Heather said.
