It wasn’t long ago when we all lived in a different world, one where people were hiding out at home if they could. People started working from home in record numbers as technology did its best to catch up for online group chats. It was often awkward, but thanks to our furry friends, there were so many hilarious moments, too!

Today, we can cautiously see those bizarre pandemic days in the rearview mirror. But many of us want to continue working on a screen from home with our pets by our side. Having them in the same room is sure to bring moments of laughter. And when they interrupt, it ends up becoming one of the best parts of the day!

Whether we are lucky enough to work from home or in an office, office pets work wonders, making our days brighter, lighter, and more productive, too! Here are a few of the times that cats and one dog broke up the workday, bringing some much-needed comic relief. Today, everyone could use a whole lot more of that, wherever you may be.

Sunflower Cat Interrupts the News

An entertainment report by Michael Babcock became a whole lot more entertaining when his cat, Blue, stole the show. As Babcock was discussing the Royal family, Blue, the Siamese, appeared on the back of the couch wearing a bright sunflower. The cat was wearing a soft collar to prevent him from scratching at a cut on his ear.

The interview erupted in laughter as Blue insisted on taking the sunny spotlight. After moving away, his tail appeared in front of his dad as he tried to keep on task. But Blue wasn’t done with his cheery cameo yet!

“You’ve been totally upstaged today, dude,” said news anchor Russell Rhodes. “Take care of that cat and tell everybody that we love him,” he said, laughing.

Brody the Dog Interrupts the Weather

Brody, the Golden Retriever, brought lots of sunshine whenever he interrupted his dad’s weather reports. And Brody interrupted often, becoming a welcome part of the evening news with meteorologist Paul Dellegatto in Tampa.

People loved seeing Brody so much they looked forward to his appearances to brighten their day. Today, the friendly pupper remains a favorite scene stealer on Dellegatto’s social media.

“Gotta celebrate National Love Your Pet Day outdoors. It’s a top ten weather day for a top ten golden,” he shared.

Weather Report Calls for 18-Pound Cat

Another meteorologist from Memphis was frequently interrupted from working by a feline stormfront. Gus, the 27-toed, 18-pound weather cat, liked to meow loudly while his dad, Tyler Eliasen, was reporting from home. Viewers weren’t sure if they were hearing things until Eliasen made an announcement with the funny culprit.

“Gus, gus, the Autobus,” Eliasen said. “He likes to kills his toys, his fake mice and make a big announcement until somebody comes and rubs his belly. So, that’s what that noise was,” he explained to viewers.

Videos like these were the inspiration behind the Cole and Marmalade spoof interview video below.
