Everyone celebrated some extra-special adoptions for three adult Queens: Piper, Rousey, and Mamma Mia. All three cats found themselves abandoned by their humans. But rescuers helped them get a new start, caring for them for a combined total of over two years. As often happens for adult cats, their waits were long despite being gorgeous and lovable in every way. But at last, they began new reigns in loving homes.

Two Queens Abandoned at Christmas

At eight years old, Piper and her younger sister from another mama, Rousey, 5, were used to a cozy, loving home. But then, their family hit on hard times just before Christmas and couldn’t afford to care for them anymore. Both ended up in the shelter for the holidays with little prospects for a better New Year. That’s when Love Your Feral Felines (LYFF) in Oceanside, California, saved them, having previously cared for Rousey.

Unfortunately, the regal Queens weren’t showing their true colors in a shelter environment. At times, they were feeling sad and stressed. Consequently, many potential adopters overlooked them and didn’t see their true potential.

But as this video with Rousey shows, adopting an adult cat has many advantages: they’re mature and settled and not wild and ‘crayzee’ kittens. They needed a quiet home and were independent, preferring to be Queen of their Castles.

Piper and Rousey Reign in New Homes

In August, LYFF was thrilled when a family adopted Piper after over seven months. She found a loving home where she could reign as Queen with an LYFF volunteer who spent the time to get to know her and fell for her.

“After spending more than 7 months with us, this affectionate feline found her forever family with one of our volunteers! It’s an absolutely perfect match, and we’re confident Piper will thrive in her new home,” LYFF shared.

Gorgeous Calico Queen Waited Over a Year

Another gorgeous Queen, the 2-year-old Mamma Mia, was dumped at a vet’s office. She had raised kittens and suddenly developed gastroenteritis that required an endoscopy right at Christmas 2022. Fortunately, supporters helped her get the care she required.

She fully recovered and was absolutely stunning!

It’s puzzling why nobody scooped her right up to adopt her, but she waited over a year to go home.

“On International Tiara Day, we’re featuring our Queen, Mamma Mia. This gorgeous girl is playful, cuddly, and loving. She also just loves people, and she’s been very, very patiently waiting to find her humans so she can settle down for all the snuggles,” LYFF shared.

“She’s done her time raising some kittens, and now she’s waiting patiently for a human smart enough to recognize just how much love little Mia has to offer. She adores people, loves attention and strokes, and is eager for a BFF to call her very, very own,” LYFF shared in February.

Finally, at the same time that Piper went home, Mamma Mia found her loving family.

“Her dreams came true this week, and we could not be happier Mamma Mia found her new family on her birthday week! 🧡🥳” LYFF shared.

Happy Life to these adult Queens who finally found their Queendoms. Their stories are a reminder to consider an adult cat or a bonded duo if you are ready to welcome furry family members. And it’s also a reminder to help support rescues like LYFF, which ensures adult cats get a second chance at life and love!
