Semi-feral fluffy black kittens who seemed to have “bad attitudes,” were dubbed the Full Metal Jacket litter when they ended up in a municipal shelter in North Carolina. In such an environment, the feisty felines were at a huge disadvantage as black cats with wildcat energy. If they weren’t extremely lucky, their story might have ended quickly. But these kittens found exactly the right rescuers!
When the shelter reached out, they were ready to sign up!
“A municipal shelter reached out today for help with this trio of semi-feral kittens. How cute are they? Seriously. Floofy AND bad attitudes? Sign us up!” shared Sister Kitten Animal Rescue.
One look at these spicy little floofs, and you can see why their hearts melted.
From the looks of it, the kittens’ whole world was turned upside down and they weren’t sure about those strange humans yet. But who could blame them?
The kitten below has the most hilarious expression, a meme waiting to happen. What do you think they are thinking?
Here’s a close-up look because it’s too funny!
The Full Metal Jacket Litter
Safely in foster care, the kittens earned their fearsome names as the Full Metal Jacket litter. There were two girls and one boy. All now have names from the classic 1987 Stanley Kubrick film.
- Pvt. Cowboy
- Animal Mother
- Pvt. Snowball
They were about 7 weeks old, and although they looked fierce, it was all an act. Despite first impressions, these kittens melted and were the sweetest, playful goofballs in foster care. It didn’t take long before they were ready to start new lives, prowling around as stunning house panthers.
A Long Wait for Purrfect House Panthers
Despite being the most beautiful and friendly kittens, there wasn’t much interest for a while at a pet store adoption center. After a month, nobody had applied to adopt them, which was puzzling but not unexpected. Black cats and kittens still tend to wait longer to find homes despite being purrfect in every way.
You can see the Full Metal Jacket kittens becoming more beautiful each day with such pretty silvery highlights. Their eyes were changing to a beautiful metallic brushed gold. Surely, someone would pounce on the opportunity to bring them home?
But by the end of the month, the kittens were still waiting, yet continued having lots of fun together anyway.
Jyst days after the video though, a family adopted Cowboy!
“Cowboy went home with his awesome new family today!”
Then, a couple of days later, another family adopted both Animal Mother and her sister Snowball together! They were a handful, but adopting in bonded duos is a great idea. We’re sure they are having the greatest time together in their new home!
“Gorgeous little Snowball and her sister, Animal Mother, went home together today! Only one pictured because they were impossible to hold together. Happy life, girls!” the rescue shared.
