Joey, the rescued “foster fail,” used to be a little standoffish with his fellow foster kittens, but now he loves being an Uncle to them. Grace of Boomer’s Buddies Rescue did an amazing job transforming the former shelter cat once branded as “aggressive.” There’s no hint of aggression anymore as Joey seeks love from everyone.
When she took in Joey, she thought it would be a dream if he enjoyed being around the foster kittens. Today, Joey is the biggest love bug with the kittens and his brother Kitty Boy the tabby.
Joey may look “like a little grandpa,” but holds his own with Kitty Boy, winning in wrestling matches despite having two little nubs for front paws. The “Kangaroo” was likely born with a congenital defect that prevented his front legs from forming. But he gets around just fine, shuffling and moving surprisingly fast.
Initially, Joey would act much like a dad who said he didn’t want any pets when the foster kittens were around. But when he recently met a foster kitten named Pipsqueak, you can see that he’s all-in with the furbabies. Even when the kittens get a little crazy, he’s very patient and doesn’t mind their antics.
Joey Loves Being An Uncle
Grace shared that “Joey really loves being an uncle 🥰.” Undoubtedly, having two resident cats who can help socialize the foster babies is a big asset too. They can teach the kittens how to cat and learn their manners so they will have a better chance to find homes one day.
Recently, Grace took in Pipsqueak from the shelter, a tiny grey kitten who was all alone. At first, she thought the kitten must be only 3 weeks old, but she was closer to 6 weeks old. She was HUNGRY and needed fattening up right away.
“Pipsqueak is not only small in stature, but she’s also just skin and bones. I’m hoping I can fatten her up in no time!”
Right away, Joey was excited to meet the new foster kitten, and Grace caught the adorable encounter on video. As soon as Joey saw her, he started lavishing kisses on the kitten. Grace captures what the two might be saying perfectly.
“Uncle Joey is so eager to love on all the foster babies 🥹”
Joey’s Kitten
Days later, Joey decided this kitten was his own and fell madly in love. He would even do somersaults when he saw Pipsqueak.
“Joey thinks he has the cutest pet in the world! 🥰 He loves baby Pipsqueak so much, he even somersaults when he sees her 😍”
As the kitten grew, Joey was being very patient with her and all her kitten antics. But soon, it would be time for Pipsqueak to find a new home.
Previously, we shared how Grace saved a former “feral and aggressive” cat named Potato. Without her intervention, Potato wouldn’t have stood a chance in the shelter. But with her patience, love, and understanding, he transformed after 7 weeks to become affectionate and loving. As of this writing, Potato is still looking for a home in the Los Angeles area.
