Sometimes when people adopt cats, it can be in a very unexpected way. The cat chooses us, not the other way around. And sometimes, instead of one cat, multiple kitties end up going home together! This is a case of a sweet and fluffy kitty named Violet. She was adopted because her adopters fell in love with her sister Penelope. Because when they saw Violet, the adopters fell in love with her too! A two-for-one special!

The Cutest Sisters – Violet and Penelope

Instagram account Here Have a kitten! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California. This foster mom takes in and fosters kitties from all over L.A., helping them thrive and find their forever homes.

And this isn’t the first time we’ve had a story about this wonderful woman and her foster kitties! You can check out foster kittens Reggie and “the Puff gang” we featured here.

Originally, a family came to adopt the kitten Penelope, whose foster mom was very attached to her. She even featured an Instagram story on why Penelope was up for adoption even though they were two peas in a pod.

“This is the question I get asked the most! Or people say they can’t foster because they wouldn’t be able to give them up. But if I hadn’t said goodbye to kittens I fell in love with in the past, I would never have even met Violet or Penelope or Reggie or ANY of these perfect angels! And what a shame that would be!”

Adopters Come For One Kitten, But Leave With Two!

When a family came to see Penelope and take her to her new home, they met her sister Violet as well. Right away, they noticed Violet was very “chirpy.” She just loves to talk and tell you what’s going on in the world and was sweet as could be.

There was no further question about it. They knew they had to take her home with them too. So happily, the sisters got to stay together!

“The adopters who came to meet Penelope fell in love with Violet too, so the girls are going to be adopted TOGETHER!!! These sweet sisters will get to grow up and spend their lives together!”

As difficult a it is, their foster mom explained why rescuers do what they do:

“Penelope went off to her wonderful incredible forever home with her sister Violet!!! It was incredibly hard to say goodbye to this perfect amazing sweet little kitten who stole my heart, but as we say in rescue – “we let our hearts break a little so that theirs never have to break again.” I’m just so happy that this loving little soul is off to the life she deserves, and will live like the princess she is! Im so excited to watch her grow up with Violet and their new kitten sister! Happy tails little P 💕”

You can follow along on Instagram for more of her adorable foster babies and memories of Violet and Penelope.

A New Life Begins for Violet, Penelope, and a New Sister

As one Instagrammer commented, we hope their new fosters will have social media.

“Can you make it a requirement of the adoption that they start up an IG account for the cutie pies?”

“I hope they will have an IG! Violet’s chirps and purrs are addictive,” said usee micina23.

Then, Here Have a Kitten! shared some great news:

“Wish granted! Violet and Penelope’s adopter saw all of your comments asking that the girls have their own Instagram, so she went ahead and made @rawlipaws so that everyone can continue to follow them as they grow up 💕”

Now, they have a furry sister sibling named Soto, who was rescued near a busy intersection. And, Violet is as chirpy as ever! A wonderful trio! Congrats Violet, Penelope, and Soto!

As we’ve shared before, adopting bonded kittens together can often be the best plan. By doing so, they can work out all that kitten energy with their playmates and have lots of fun doing so!
