In late April, a cat rescuer and foster mom in Los Angeles took in a litter of kittens dubbed “The Puffs.” Sadly, someone had been trying to hurt them, so it was an emergency to get them to safety.
Once safe in foster care, these adorable kittens were cuddly and enjoyed being snuggled, just pure bundles of joy.
When they first arrived, their eyes were squinting, but after just one day, they opened up bright and looked so much healthier. However, they still managed to get their faces covered with food no matter how many times they got cleaned up.

Nevertheless, their foster mom “couldn’t get enough” of their little faces. And, they couldn’t get enough affection in return.

At first shy, the kittens came out of their shells with help from Uncle Archie, the always-loving resident cat.
The Puffs Do the Sideways Crab Walk/Hop
One day, while out exploring, their foster mom witnessed that most coveted of kitten moments. It’s when they do that ridiculously cute play hop, sometimes compared to a crab walk.
While learning to navigate the world, they arch their backs and puff up. Rather than look intimidating, it’s just the cutest thing ever. Many times, the crab hopping accompanies the Zoomies, which makes it even funnier.
Sometimes, older cats do this too, and if your cat is among them, it’s always hysterical to watch. For instance, Cole used to do this and bunny kick so often that we thought he was a bunny sometimes.
It’s rare moments like these that make fostering a joy, although it can also be very hard when setbacks and heartbreaks occur. And, they do. But more often than not, there are joyful memories made.

Cute Moments Fostering Kittens
Most days, there are so many cute moments fostering kittens. For example, when Uncle Archie baths the kittens on the poof chair, giving them “teeny tiny licks.” To summarize, the Puffs are all together on the poof.
As the kittens grow, their unique personalities show, and they make such cute chirps and squeaks.

With the Puffs, they all like to sleep on their backs and get tummy rubs.
“Why does this litter sleep on their backs 🤣 it’s too cute!!!”
Of all the Puffs in foster care, Reggie might be the cuddliest with his foster mom.
“Reggie is one in a million 😻 This lil guy is my Velcro baby – he looooves cuddles, follows me around, and wants to take all of his naps on top of me.”
Frequently, Reggie sleeps like a little human.
“He thinks he’s a little person 🤣”
On the other hand, Penelope sure does crave attention, trying to get as close as possible to mama’s face.
