The Purrfect Cat Rescue Inc in Crystal Lake, Illinois, shares the story of a chatty kitty named Little One, a beautiful two-year-old calico cat.
The Purrfect Cat Rescue is a cage-free, no-kill shelter inspired after rescuing 40+ cats from a hoarding house in Northern Illinois. The Cole and Marmalade team and Cat Man Chris assisted and documented the rescue after a long, emotional day in 2017.
After a very tough time rescuing some extremely scared and panicked cats, there was a wonderful ending. Not only were the cats saved, but it inspired the shelter, which continues to save kitties like Little One today.

Little One Abandoned in Apartment
On this occasion, someone abandoned the gorgeous cat with two other cats in an apartment. It isn’t clear how long the cats had to fend for themselves without a caretaker. Worse, they were covered in bloodsucking fleas. Without intervention, they wouldn’t have survived very long.
“Her backside was as naked as a baboon from the fleas and stress of the other cats,” they said of Little One.
Following the rescue, the rescuers could see that she wanted to be away from other cats. And, who could blame her after that ordeal?
Little One Wants to Be a Calico Princess
Once she settled into her new digs at the rescue, the neglected kitty decided it was time to be treated with the respect she deserves.
“Since then, we have learned Little One wants to be an only cat. She’s her best self with no other cats and can be the calico princess she is,” they state.
A Conversationalist Cat
In the pictures, you can see she’s showing no signs of stress now. Visitors to the rescue say she’s quite the conversationalist, meowing in approval.
“She is beyond cute and very chatty indeed!” said one visitor.
“We have the best chats!!!” said another person.
Another says she’s “super sweet and just a ton of fun.”
“Her fur is all growing back in and she is looking forward to having a new family that will never leave her behind,” the rescue says.
Older Cats Make Purrfect Companions
Now, this mature cat is ready to start a new life with a family who will treat her like a princess. In return, an older cat like Little One is often the best match for people who may find the energy levels of rambunctious kittens overwhelming. As mature kitties, they will generally be less likely to scratch and enjoy spending quality quiet times cuddling with their humans.
Although kittens are about the cutest things on the planet, the older cats have so much to offer too! They are so grateful when adopted from a shelter. Every day, they show you know their love, offering unconditional affection, and frequent chatty conversations.
