TikToker nicoles_garbage_goblins began sharing TikToks as she helped raccoons trapped inside a dumpster near her workplace over the summer of 2021. From the start, Nicole was concerned for the trash pandas, going out of her way to place objects so they could climb out and escape the trash collector. An upside-down plastic trash can was all they needed to get out most times.
“Hi, good morning. You want me to rescue you?” she would ask the very tame acting raccoons.
Somehow, the smart critters knew Nicole was their dumpster savior. Often, they come straight to her voice, which was offputting for coworkers, but not Nicole. As you see, she truly loves animals.
Each morning, Nicole would check the dumpster to see if she saw any furry “friends” waiting for her. One day, Nicole found a litter of kits had somehow gotten into the dumpster. Luckily, it was “the nice garbage man” that day. So, he left the dumpster alone while she worked on their rescue.
Another day, she helped the kits out of the dumpster, collecting them together in the plastic can. Then, the 4 kits scampered off into the woods. Nearby, a wooded area goes on for miles.

🐈 Nicole Finds A Kitten with the Raccoons 🦝🦝🦝🦝
Days later, Nicole was in for a big surprise as she checked for the kits in the dumpster as she does each morning. On this day, it happened to be raining cats and dogs.
“Oh my God there’s a kitten,” she said.
Upon being spotted, the kitten sprang in the air, trying to jump out of the dumpster. Realizing it could not get out, the kitten huddled with the raccoon kits.
“Oh, come on you little wet rats,” she said, hoping they would all climb out of the dumpster.
Amazingly, the tiny grey kitten seems to believe it’s one of the raccoons. Fortunately, the momma raccoon welcomed and accepted the kitten.
“The trash pandas had a friend this morning.”
Rescued from the Dumpster
So, did the kitten and kits get out? As Nicole explained in a follow-up video, everyone made it out safely. However, the fast-moving kitten ran off into the surrounding woods, evading capture. “The cat is fine. He is a part of the raccoon pack,” she said.
For all the concerned viewers, she assured:
“The kitten got out. Everyone got out. Everyone is ok.”
Later the raccoon kits were back in the dumpster, but the kitten didn’t return that day.
At home, Nicole has a cat named Meow, 4, rescued from the same place at around 4 months old. Also, she adopted Cheerio, a cat from the Humane Society.
Later, when the TikTok went mega-viral, Nicole shared a remix of the kitten with a surprising “Here Comes the Boy” spoofed soundtrack.
Warning: Volume down or this one will catch you off guard – but might leave you tickled.
Each day, Nicole checks the dumpster and shares what she finds on TikTok. Over time, she’s gotten to know the raccoons and their unique personalities. Then one morning, the little kitten was back! However, the lightning-fast kitty got out and ran into the woods again.
“The mom is like “this one has an accent, but he’s my child now,” 😭” one person commented.
Reminder: It’s always a good idea to show caution around raccoons and other wild animals, which can, unfortunately, carry rabies sometimes. Here are some tips from the Humane Society about what to be aware of with raccoons. As Nicole noted in her TikTok, she contacted the Humane Society about the little kitten and raccoon family.
🦞 Nicole Loves All Kinds of Animals 🐀
When Nicole isn’t helping the raccoons, kits, and kittens, she’s helping out Patrick the black squirrel, common in northwest Ohio, she says. Oh, and there’s also Larry the lobster and Franklin Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter the pet rats.
“I wanted random president names just to be ridiculous lol,” she said.
Certainly, the garbage goblins, trash pandas, kittens, and other critters are very fortunate to have such a caring person looking after them.
