Duck, the kitten, is a double amputee rescue whose adaptability and joy for life are truly inspirational. On Instagram, she’s called “purrasicduck,” since she humorously resembles a waddling T-rex with fierce and fearless determination.

She’s also been called a “fluffy velociraptor,” bounding along on two legs without any problem.

Sadly, she lost her two front legs after climbing inside a car engine. After being rescued, she went to a foster home, where her new human dad Cody immediately fell in love with her. (see the video by the Dodo below)

“My sister wanted to bring her over to foster. And so probably within a day of having her, I decided to keep her,” Cody told the Dodo. “When I met her, I just fell in love immediately.”

🦆 Nothing Slows This Cat Down 🦖

As Cody saw right away, this cat doesn’t let anything slow her down – not one tiny bit. Losing her legs so early, she sees getting around on her hind legs as the norm. As you watch her, you see she’s just your average kitten in most respects, playing and exploring, rolling around excitedly. Always, she’s having fun and it’s inspirational to see.

Really, it’s nothing less than amazing to see how strong and adaptable this kitten has always been. Sometimes, she “hit a full upright like she’s us and bolt around the house,” Cody says. Other times, she springs like an Olympian into the air to chase a wadded-up paper ball.

Duck shares a home with five dogs and a one-eyed “pirate” cat named Goose, fitting right in with the pack. Clearly, Duck and Goose love each other and can be seen cuddling and playing on Instagram. They met when Goose was just a wee little thing and immediately hit it off, becoming snuggle buddies.

“It’s crazy; she’s always the happiest little thing,” Cody says. “With a lot of energy, real playful. Always getting into something.”

According to Cody, the dogs are “her personal security detail.” Reef, the 12-year-old Golden Retriever, leads the pack and loves everyone and everything.

“Duck’s protection detail doesn’t mess around”

Bimini and kitten

The big gentle dog serves as a “shining example for all the animals in the house to get along so well,” says Dad.

“Introducing a new rare species of Couch Hogs…”

Dog and cats

Of all the dogs, Bimini the Frenchie could be Duck’s favorite. When Duck arrived, she immediately bonded with Bimini, who sometimes felt left out. Now, the two are inseparable, playing, wrestling, and giving each other baths. Since Duck can’t reach her face, Bimini licks her clean, and Duck returns the favor.

Duck also meets many friends who receive foster care in the house, including kittens, a piglet, puppies, a bunny, a squirrel, raccoons, an opossum, and real ducks! Although there are so many diverse species, they all get along peacefully somehow. What a wonderful loving home!

When not playing with the pups, Duck can be found outside hanging the “two-legged homies,” a small flock of chickens. Maybe Duck can relate to the chickens a little more than most cats? Well, Goose is also very fond of the chickens too!

Other times, Duck has pretend boxing matches with the chickens, complete with tiny boxing gloves.
