A baby and kitten: maybe it’s just what the world needed more of right now? A video showing just that went viral when two librarians shared it on social media.
First, Emily Hixon, a librarian from Mississippi, shared a video of her daughter Sojourner (nickname Jojo) and recently rescued kitten Sprinkles (and Bob) on Twitter. Then, her friend Lydia Sigwarth, a fellow librarian and author from Wisconsin, shared the video on TikTok.
“Emily put the video of Jojo (Sojourner) and Sprinkles on her Twitter, and I immediately knew it had potential,” Sigwarth said, as Yahoo! reported. “People love kitties, they love babies, and they especially love babies and kittens together.”

Baby and Kitten Lesson in Being Gentle
In the video, the cute little Sprinkles gives some love to Jojo with very close supervision from Hixon. At the time, she taught the kids how to be extra careful with the kitten.
“Gentle hands, gentle, gentle,” says the caring mom.
So without further ado, here is the TikTok video as shared by the insightful author. Since October, over 2.2 million people have seen it, and it has appeared on many news sites like USA TODAY.
“I woke up one morning and my friends were sharing links that the video had been shared on (news sites) like USA TODAY,” Emily said. “It was real fun.”
“Literally the cutest thing,” reads the caption.
Sprinkles Rescued from a Shed
One day, the librarian mom heard the kitten crying in a shed near Sumrall High School. Soon, she realized it needed help and asked her husband, Reverend Nance Hixon, to investigate.
After he rescued the kitten, the couple took the sick kitten to the veterinarian. Fortunately, Sprinkles survived and found a forever home with the family. After the kitten was fully-recovered and healthy, he met the baby and immediately they loved each other.
Now, the video capturing the cute moment has been seen by millions.

In a follow-up to the viral video, Sigwarth took a request to add funny audio. As Jojo plays with Sprinkles, we hear “I would like to see the baby,” from the Mandalorian. In the movie scene, a mysterious character asks to see Baby Yoda, also called “The Child” and Grogu.

In another TikTok, baby Jojo is seen playing with another family pet. This time, it’s a dog that the family rescued from a shelter. As the baby coos, the pup gently plays with her.

Dear Librarian
Lydia Sigwarth is the author of “Dear Librarian,” her debut picture book inspired by her life. It’s been her dream to be a librarian since she was a little girl.
At age five, she befriended a librarian and found “a world beyond their walls, one that sparkled with spectacular joy.”
