About a year ago, everything changed for sad cat Mr. Willis. We were happy to report on the uplifting story of this sweet cat who finally found his forever human. And boy, did she do everything in her power to fulfill their destiny!
Every day, Sandra couldn’t help but check the shelter’s website for updates. One day, she learned her favorite shelter cat was feeling down with an upper respiratory infection. She decided to visit him again to help him feel better. He was as loving as ever, and that second visit sparked something within Sandra. After that day, she went back to the shelter again and again. Mr. Willis greeted her with affection every time, and the two started to get to know each other.
After about a month, there were still no potential adopters. Mr. Willis had already spent so much of his life alone.
Convinced that she and Mr. Willis were meant to be together, Sandra went to her landlord. She sent a picture and described the situation.
With her landlord’s permission, Sandra and Mr. Willis finally became a family. On his first night in his new home, Sandra says her new cat purred and cuddled as if he’d lived there his whole life. He follows her around the house and jumps in her lap every time she sits down. Mr. Willis is finally enjoying the good life, and his sweet face will be loved for the rest of his days.
What’s important to remember about Mr. Willis now, is that this level of love can be achieved by ANY adopter!
But oh my goodness, how much fun the two have had over the last year of their loving lives together.

Today is Bruce’s official unofficial birthday 🎂 He’s turning 7ish years old. Since he came into the shelter as a stray, I don’t know his exact age or birthday but all his papers say July 28, 2013 based on what the vets estimated him to be. We’ll have an even bigger pawty next month when it’s his Gotcha Day 🎉
I’m curious if Sandra’s landlord has stopped by to see the joy that he helped create in the world when he allowed Mr. Willis to move in.
More people need to truly take the time to learn the benefits of sharing our homes and hearts with felines. The PAWsible rewards are endless!
