Kittens make the world go round. Granted, I’m the first to advocate for spay and neutering. But when a stray mama cat has already become pregnant and needs a safe place to have her babies, you gotta do what you gotta do. And their safety becomes the most important thing for the newly emerging lives. So what do you do with a new family when the kittens are already born on the streets? Luckily, new mama cat Sunny, fell into just the right hands.

Sunny was warmly welcomed into foster care after giving birth to SEVEN tiny kittens outdoors.

It was almost a week ago as the Florida sun beat down between hurricane induced thunderstorms. This sweet mama Sunny went into labor alone with what is not even her first litter.

She has been fed by a local couple for the past 2 years, but they’ve never been able to trap her. Over the years, this is her THIRD LITTER! It is an unfortunate situation and exactly the reason that the stray cat population can explode without TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) programs.

Thankfully due to The Runaways Animal Rescue in Holiday, FL, it will be her last. She settled right in at the home of foster mom, Sheridan McNeel with her offspring.

Sidenote to this happy story, Sunny has a sister that apparently is ALSO pregnant right now. We’ll keep an eye on the rescues’ page for any updates as they attempt to bring her into safety too.

But mama Sunny is now enjoying the comforts of indoors, leaving her to care for her seven babies.

Those seven babies needed names though! And Sheridan knows that after fostering for years, coming up with the purffectly matching names can be a challenge.

It’s also the most fun for a super larger litter like this. So introducing the newly named, out of this world kitten crew!

World, meet Mercury, Venus, Terra, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune!

No, haha, Uranus is NOT a good name for a kitten and apparently Pluto isn’t a planet anymore they say.

For now, Sunny is purring away and the kittens are happily thriving. Sheridan is wonderful at sharing photos of her adorable fosters – kittens AND adults cats!

Please be sure to follow The Runaways Animal Rescue to see these cosmically cute babies find their furever homes!
