As cat lovers…and human beings…we can likely sympathize to what celebrity, Frankie Muniz is going through in his current life.
Sadly, the 32-year-old Muniz just returned home to Phoenix, Arizona, after attending his uncle’s funeral.
And what he returned to was another tragedy.
He and girlfriend, Paige Price, walked into a home flooded with 3-feet of water!
One of the couples cats had turned on the faucet and 4 of the floors 5-story brownstone had sustained major damage.
I arrived home from my uncle’s funeral to find 4 of my 5 story brownstone home under 3 feet of water. Everything I own, destroyed. Every wall, piece of artwork, personal photos, furniture… All because my cat accidentally turned on a sink a few days ago while we were gone.

Now before we all jump to conclusions as to why this went unnoticed, perhaps the cats were not left alone, as many are speculating.
It’s possible a cat sitter stopped by to feed the felines each day.
They may not have noticed the steady stream of water flowing in another part of the multi-million dollar home.
Since the basement of the home was where the 3-feet of water likely pooled, it surely could have gone unnoticed.
I’m devastated and exhausted from a tough week with the loss of my Uncle Skip, 45 hours of travel to and from France to walk in to find this disaster. I’ve cried more yesterday and today then my whole life combined. Forgive me for venting. I just need some support.

The damage done to the home was extensive, but water will do that and can instigate the silent killer…mold.
As Paige shared on her Instagram Story, the house is being torn down to the studs to avoid future issues.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I swear it’s true. You wouldn’t believe the destruction.

Both Frankie and Paige are huge cat lovers at heart, honoring their 2 family cats.
They’ve both posted the expected “cat servant photos” on their social media pages.
There is loving Jeri, who was found behind a rental property back in October of 2016 as a kitten.
She obviously grew up to rule the roost and would do nothing to harm her comfy abode.
But Jeri’s younger brother is the culprit behind the faucet fiasco.
Meet Zzyzx Muniz-Price, the adorable little Lykoi cat.
And no, Marmalade didn’t walk across the keyboard as I typed his name. According to the Urban Dictionary, “Zzyzx” has an actual meaning.
“The last place on Earth. It was originally founded by a crazy old man who named it ZZYZX since it would be the last word in the dictionary, and hence “the last place on Earth”. Currently it’s an abandoned town somewhere Between Las Vegas and LA.”
Zzyzx’s expressive face hints at just a bit of devilish charm, which is the face of who they are blaming the flood on.
He joined their family this past August.
Paige was happy to share the photo from their first meeting where they fell immediately in love with the hairless little boy.
At first many reports laid blame on sister Jeri, but she has strong supporters on her furry side!
As the spokesperson for @frankiemuniz & @paigey_price’s cat Jeri, I offer:
“My client is the victim of a smear campaign. We retained the firm of Felix & Sylvester to conduct an investigation. Early results show another paw is to blame but we’re taking the high-road, for now.” pic.twitter.com/4r9jC4ERWx

Dan was able to bring a smile to Muniz through the ordeal. Friends like this are something we can all be thankful for during difficult times in our lives.
I know Jeri lives in your home but you don’t speak for her. She really didn’t want to rat out her sibling right before thanksgiving Frankie. Geez.

Saturday night, fate was still trying the couple’s patience however.
Just woke up to fire alarms and had to evacuate the hotel we are staying in because of what happened to our house. This has been an eventful week.

Through the loss and chaos, Frankie has been unflinchingly open about the support he’s received from Paige.
Thank God I have @paigey_price to help me get through this. I’d be lost without her. She’s so strong and exactly what I need.

The couple have been together for the last couple of years, enjoying life with their fur-kids.
Crazy cat people around the world can seriously relate to a few of Paige’s cat related posts.
My cat hasn’t figured out she’s a cat yet. Man that’s gonna break her little heart…

I spend Monday nights arguing with my cat back and forth of why she’s not allowed to jump on the counters… #teenagers

Purrhaps with everything they’ve gone through recently, it reminded them just what’s important in life…our loved ones.
With that likely in the forefront of his mind, Muniz made a life-changing move.
Last night, at the Pinal Fairgrounds & Event Center, he proposed to Paige.
Life may try us with obstacles beyond our control.
Our cherished fur-kids may throw our lives into utter chaos.
But every moment together is worth the love and lives we share. We’re very glad no lives were lost in the flood.
Congrats on the engagement and many blessings while rebuilding your lives together. Stay PAWsitive!!!

I do feel bad for him. I am from New Orleans and went through Hurricane Katrina. Water is the most destructive thing to a home. It will ruin everything and won’t care if you are rich or poor. Muniz has money so it won’t be a problem getting the funds to fix his home. It is all the little mementos that get destroyed that makes it so hard. Things that money can’t replace. Good luck to Frankie as he fixes his house
So sorry about the house that sucks. Good thing no problems with the cats. I hope things get fixed soon. And congratulations on the engagement. I guess I’ll stop thinking about teaching the cat how to turn the water on when he wants a drink,
I’m so sorry for all the destruction. I don’t get it though…why didn’t the water go down the drain? Please someone explain, because I have five cats, and two sinks, and all the local motels (not hotels) are sketchy at best.
Tina, it can happen if the water flow is high. Then the drains can’t absord it fast enough and it goes over the sink.
Maybe he shouldn’t have been that stingy and get someone to properly look after the cats (and the house) when he’s away ? And cut the water also. You’re never sure when a washing machine pump is going to give up and flood your place.
