I just don’t understand it. Why throw a living animal from a moving vehicle? Abandoning it is bad enough, but to completely disregard a living beings safety is just despicable. Yet it happens literally all the time. And thankfully there are loving souls to balance out the horrific ones. Luckily for this little ginger kitten named Winder, she’s now healing from her injuries.
A Broken Pelvis
The staff at Animal Harbor in Tennessee didn’t share how Winder ended up in their care. She wouldn’t have made it long without them though. Her “severely broken pelvis” as they indicate would require surgery and a long recovery time. But the important thing is supporting little Winder throughout her healing process. And this little ginger kitty is FULL of love and gratitude! Not only is she fully accepting of the humans helping her now, she adorably reached out to hold hands with her heroes. Bonus; this ginger kitty is polydactyl on her front paws!
Months of Cage Rest
While she was able to undergo pelvic surgery, she would now require cage rest for months. Sure, a young kitten staying still in a small space for months…not an easy task! But the staff at the shelter knew exactly how to keep their patient happy. Winder got to spend her days in a secure pet stroller to stay near the staff. No closed doors here!
Your tragic start, being so cruelly tossed from a window, is a part of your story that we are so sorry for. But it’s not what defines you.

@animalharborfc There is no doubt that every day at the shelter brings something new and unexpected. As a result, our kittens and cats are exposed to many different sights and sounds while in our care. We often hear from adopters that their new cat has adjusted well to their home’s dynamics. This is because we take the time to expose them to all kinds of things: kids, other cats, a wide range of people, dogs, and even the occasional farm animal. Choosing to adopt a cat from Animal Harbor sets both you and your new pet up for success. Ready to find your new best friend? #animalharbor #babygoat #sheltercat #rescueanimals #whatsthis
