Adopting kitties at any time of the year is magical. But here’s the cutest, and we do mean cutest, holiday story about a mama cat named Mistletoe and her three kittens, Holly, Fir, and Fraser.

Best Friends Animal Society first shared the story back in mid-December 2022 when the most absurdly cute mama, Mistletoe, arrived and promptly gave birth to kittens. Before they saved her, she somehow found herself in a shelter in the middle of Arkansas. But thanks to the rescue, she found a foster mom, Ali, to care for her.

Three of the Cutest Babies Under the Mistletoe

Little did Ali know, but she had agreed to foster four cats when she took in Mistletoe.

Days after arriving, the kitty gave birth in safety.

Given the festive season, the Best Friends Northwest Arkansas Facebook group named them using it for inspiration. The pictures have that cuteness overload factor that is just breathtaking.

“The comment section was filled with the cutest holiday names, but three fit oh, so perfectly … Holly, Fir and Fraser!” shared Best Friends Animal Society.

Mistletoe Retired to a Loving Home

After giving birth to these cuties, Mistletoe was relieved of her “mom duties” and found a loving home. Best Friends recently updated on what she’s doing this Holiday season.

“According to her mom, Ashley, “She is doing really well! She loves our older cat, Molly, and adores all three of our dogs. She is a huge mommy’s girl and has to have her morning snuggles before I go to work and when I get home. Her favorite thing to do is sit on the back of the couch and watch the geese walk by our house.” Best Friends shared recently.

The Happiest of Holidays for Holly, Fir, and Fraser

The story just gets cheerier with a new update: Holly, Fir, and Fraser found their loving home in Arkansas– together! It almost didn’t happen since their fosterers, Lisa and Jim, planned to find them the purrfect homes. But then, the adoptions didn’t work out. At that point, they realized it was “a sign” and decided these three would stay with them forever!

Call it a “foster fail” if you want, but it’s the happiest ending and meant to be.

Joy to the World

Originally, the couple decided to take in the kittens while grieving the loss of their beloved 16-year-old cat. As they cared for them, they bonded so tight, so it must have been a sense of relief when their adoptions fell through.

“When all three kitten’s original adoption plans fell through, Lisa and Jim knew it was a sign and that they were meant to keep them together! According to the couple, ‘It really brings us so much joy to witness their love and enjoyment of each other every day. They sleep with us at night- often all 3 of them on my pillow!”

“They love to play and snuggle close to where we are, whether it’s napping on my lap while I work or playing with their rapidly growing collection of toys while we make dinner or watch TV. We are convinced they did not come to us by accident!” Best Friends shared.

Now, the kittens are named Ollie, Josie, and Frank, and their cuteness remains off the charts.

“Congrats on finding your perfect home Ollie, Josie, and Frank! Enjoy your holiday season in your new home! -Katheryn,” shared Best Friends.
