Flying First Class is a bit of a luxury for most people. But who knew that cats preferred to fly that way too? Well, this kitty decided coach wasn’t good enough and wanted to live a lifestyle of luxury too!
Have You Lost Your Cat?
While taking a flight, you don’t normally see a cat strutting about. But First-Class passengers on a flight from Dallas, Texas to San Francisco, California noticed a furry passenger walking down the aisle. Passenger David Hislop caught the interaction on video. As you can see, the adorable tabby was checking out the digs of the United Airlines plane.
But just when the kitty was ready to enjoy a taste of the good life, a flight attendant grabbed her. Drat! Then, she started walking down the aisle with the none-too-pleased kitty. Can you imagine the indignity? And, instead of that tasty beverage passengers were thinking of, they were offered a very disgruntled cat instead.

As tempting as the offer was, no one claimed her. But, as it turned out, her human was sitting back in coach. Needless to say, this fluffy Queen wasn’t pleased about being nabbed, only to return to the cheap seats. She was so close, but so far away.

Queen Kitty Demands First Class
The flight attendant warned passengers as she walked by to watch out for the Queen. She hissed and snarled and was probably terrified to find herself in such a position.
After tasting freedom, the tabby Queen was determined to resist! She wiggled in the attendant’s arms trying to get back to the front of the plane! We might hiss and snarl too if we got a taste of the good life only to suffer a rude awakening.
All jokes aside, we have to commend this kind woman for being so careful with this kitty. She put herself at considerable risk to help the cat, which is why they should always remain inside their carriers. As we’ve shared before, we would suggest gently covering a rescued cat in a towel, soft blanket, or shirt. This keeps the scared cat and the rescuer safe.
“She is running around on the airplane. We’re going to need you to come claim that.”
But how did kitty make her way from coach to First Class? United Airlines policy is that cats are put in a hard- or soft-sided carrier with the door shut at all times. Well, the owner decided, while safely on the plane, to take the cat out and place her on his lap. We see how well that turned out!
Unfortunately, similar incidents have led to many restrictions on animals aboard airlines.
“I demand to speak to your manager! I paid for my ticket!”
Eventually, the bashful owner walked up and claimed his cat. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Queen then escaped again and headed right back up to First Class. She wasn’t going back to sub-standard accommodations without a fight!
It’s ok sweetie, we totally understand.

Of course, this isn’t the first time there’s been some ‘cat-astrophes’ aboard planes or in an airport. There are frequent stories of kitties hiding inside of luggage while passing through TSA checkpoints. Also, there are regularly escape-artist cats hiding out in and around airports, and recently, even having kittens in airplanes.
At least this story turned out to have a happy, albeit embarrassing, ending for the cat, her human, and people on the plane.
“Excuse me ma’am put me down!”
