Philly’s Cowboy Cat Wrangler, Bob Lynch, was out caring for one of the almost 100 feral cats he watches in the area when he and a fellow rescuer found Butters (Inspired by the South Park character). The adorable orange and white kitten with the prettiest sparkling blue eyes and pink nose was all alone in the woods on a cold, wet autumn night. He cried for his momma, but she wasn’t around.

Lynch was working with fellow rescuer Dana Hoffman that night. Each night, he makes the rounds, feeds the cats, checks on their well-being, and sometimes encounters funny wildlife like the Stinky Skunk Twins we previously shared.
Somehow, Dana spotted Butters in the dense vegetation.
Finding Butters
In the video below, you can see how difficult it would be to see the kitten huddled beneath a tree and surrounded by brush. Shining a flashlight, they could see the kitten’s bright blue eyes as he cautiously looked at them.
“Well, hello there. What are you doing out here?” Lynch asked.
Butters was shivering from the cold and didn’t resist too much at first. So, Lynch managed to pick him up, noticing he was well-fed and “chonky” with a fat belly. But the kitten’s cattitude quickly changed when Lynch placed him safely in a nearby TNR trap. With the kitten secured, the rescuers would try to find the momma cat.
“The amazing trappers waited and watched for hours, and momma didn’t come. It was much too cold last night to leave Butters alone in a bush!” shared Here Kitty Kitty Cat Rescue.
Once home, Butter’s got a well-needed warm bath in the sink. At around three weeks old, the kitten was in good health and, surprisingly, without any fleas. After being dried with a towel, the kitten’s blue eyes stood out even more (see video below).
A New Life for Butters
Butters had everything going for him after Dana spotted him that cold night. She and a friend took him to the Philadelphia rescue, Here Kitty Kitty Cat. There, he got a big warm welcome. Plus, Butter met lots of new friends to play with as an orphaned single kitten. Soon, they would all be ready for adoption but for now, it was time to be carefree, adorable kittens.
“Butters, Liberty and Rittenhouse (and Fisher’s in there, too!) are loving their new Snuggle Hammock! These babies aren’t yet ready for their Forevers, but they’re ready to be Adorables!!” HKKCR shared.

Butters recovered after he “sprained his teensie weensie ankle” and was soon back to “nonstop adorableness” after a vet visit.
Then, he went to his foster mom, Auntie D. He was her first foster baby and what a cute one! After caring for such a cutie, it was a bittersweet day when Butters was ready for adoption. She gave him lots of love before sending him on his way.
“Butters has left the building!” the rescue shared. “He found himself a beautiful young family to be spoiled as their first pet!! And we couldn’t be happier! As happy as we are, the day is bittersweet as Butters is Auntie D’s first foster beebee and her first adoption day! But they got some good cuddles and loves in before it was time to go!”
