I love seeing the videos of people, usually burly men, saying they are not “cat guys”. Then it cuts to them speaking baby voice to a fluffy kitten or cat while cradling them in their arms. These men tend to partner up with women in the animal rescue world too, which is even funnier. And for one man, his son Brady shares the families daily antics online for us all to enjoy. The most popular content though is when his ‘inner cat dad’ comes out as much as he denies it exists.
Trying to deny his cat dad dedication.
The first post on the Instagram page of Brady Medearis that I came across was definitely something I would do! It was titled “Dad refuses to put his cat away for guests.” *Immediate follow*

Of course, that led to looking at their other posts of their family making memories and enjoying life together. Warms the heart. But then my heart burst.
Because the fabulous matriarch decided the family would foster a pregnant feline cat.
Dad wasn’t thrilled when mom introduced him to a sweet petite cat who was very pregnant. But her response to him saying “We don’t have a big enough house” was “I have a big enough heart”, was met with a loooooong pause. Legit, how can you argue with that?! Well he obviously couldn’t. Because the next scene the video cuts to him while gently cradling a newborn, saying this:
“This will be Ozzy. I’m gonna name him Ozzy. Looks like a skunk. Ozzy would like that”.

Feeding Time
Brady happily recorded the interaction between the human servants as dad was introduced to their newest intake. Whether he wanted to or not; hilarious so. I think my favorite moment is dad going from complaining he’s on feeding duty to this.
“I don’t want to be the one doing it!”…“I’m the best at this”…“I’m gonna feed him so good, he’s gone turn into a tiger”

“Mewvie Night with Mom and Dad”
By far though, the undebatable truth of his cat dad status is this video Brady posted. Mom waits patiently with the fur kids in their amazingly decorated cat room. Because it’s MOVIE NIGHT! Dad begrudgingly wanders into the adorable cat room. Shelves and perches are lined with comfy blankets and settled cats, patiently waiting. Mom sits on a blanket on the floor, a big bowl of popcorn next to her. All waiting for dad so they can start the movie.
Grumbles and bafflement can be heard as dad sits down in opposition and accepts his fate. And what a glorious cat world he lives in. Thank you to the whole family for taking us along for the hilariously heartwarming adventures you have!
