When a couple in Canada set out for a camping trip, they never expected to come home with a new family member. But that’s exactly what happened after Andy Sweetland and his fiancé set out for a peaceful weekend adventure.
Camping Supplies
At the start of their trip, the couple stopped at a gas station to fill up. But that’s when Andy heard stressed meows. He quickly discovered a tiny kitten being harassed by magpies.
Magpies are known for their intelligence, social complexity, and unique behaviors. They are highly territorial, fiercely protective of their nests, and can be quite aggressive, especially during breeding season.
He approached the young kitten and was instantly greeted by a raised tail. The tiny furry body wobbled over to him and easily allowed itself to be ‘rescued’.
Andy knew there was no way he could ignore the needy soul. So he scooped up the grey fuzz ball and they continued on their journey.
Camping Cat
The sweet kitten turned out to be a female and she was completely chill with her heroes. Camping with the couple, she happily snuggled into warm cozy blankets to nap.
Bonfires highlighted her sweet little face and they knew she was something special. But there was going to be one major hurdle to overcome if she was going to join their family officially.
Theo Gets a Sibling
Now Andy and his fiancé already have a feline overlord named Theo. So if Theo approved of the new furry kitten, then they could consider keeping her. And it didn’t take long at all. Because apparently Theo has a heart as big as his own fluff.
Calling the new kitten Junipurr, the accepted the fact that she had chosen them officially. And with that, Theo and Junipurr are getting to know each other and experience the fun two cats can bring to a home.
Congrats to Andy, his fiancé, Theo and Junipurr. Here’s to many more happy camping trips in the future!
