The “cat distribution system” seems to find feline living folks when they least expect it. As we see daily, cats seem to instinctively know who their humans are the moment they spot them. But sometimes, this so-called system seems to choose the same person for an ongoing membership. That’s what happened to Los Angeles cat dad Nick King. When he thought he was out, the cat distribution center pulled him right back in!

Automatic Cat Distribution Center Membership
Nick King works helping children and families in crisis throughout Los Angeles County. But he’s also finding himself helping kitties that show up at his house. It all started a year ago when he was surrounded by meowing kitties in the LA area.
“A year ago today is when the cat distribution system🐾 found me 🤪,” he shared.

Ever since that first encounter, the kitties seemed to communicate to each other that Nicks’ is where it’s at!
A pretty calico, Moo Moo, decided to make her home with the family. Then, they decided to adopt a tabby, Harley, followed by his sister Quinn, who desperately needed help to avoid a kill shelter. At that point, the membership only expanded because Quinn had six healthy kittens.
“Momma Quinn with her new furbabies. We are going to make sure these little kittens are nice and healthy over the next month,” King shared.

After taking in Quinn, it was just the beginning. Shortly afterward, another random tuxedo kitty just showed up at the home’s door, wanting inside! Like Quinn, she turned out to be a pregnant mama, Gwanda, that needed to find sanctuary for her litter.
Gwanda somehow knows this is the home to find sanctuary.
“I don’t know if people are calling around, if the cats are telepathically talking to one another,” Nick joked. “But I come home from work today, and now this cat wants in the house. I want my membership cancelled immediately.”

The Cat Distribution Center Will Not Be Denied
By the end of the same month, July, Nick was out taking a walk for coffee when he discovered the tuxie at the door, Gwanda, was just the beginning of another special delivery!
“Gwanda showed up last night with a surprise. She introduced us to her 4 kittens. This absolutely made my week! Now, I need to earn these kittens trust so we can take a trip to the vet,” he shared at the time.
While caring for Gwanda and family, it seems residents in the apartment complex were caring for an entire colony of tuxies. However, they didn’t get the kitties spayed or neutered. As always, it’s a recipe for an out-of-control kitten population.
“The cat distribution system was not happy about my last video of wanting to cancel my membership,” he said.
Instead, the distribution center delivered a clowder of Tuxie kittens! It seems that Gwanda was at the door desperately seeking help for her extended family, too! In all, there were 11 additional tuxie kitties in all! (Including Tuxedo Hitler?)

Cat Distribution Centers At Full Production
As we know, cat distribution centers are at full production all year long in warm climates such as Florida or California. As temperatures are becoming warmer in many places, it results in more kittens. And the demand from adopters can’t keep up.
While kind folks like Nick can help a few kitties, it’s beyond any single family’s ability to care for them all. Likewise, shelters and rescues really can’t save them all, either. That’s not to say we can’t do what we can or that each small effort doesn’t make a big difference in the lives of cats as well as our lives.
However, we need widespread TNR (trap, neuter, return) programs to control the overall population. And pets simply must be spayed an neutered, even if they always tend to stay indoors. They always seem to manage to get loose, especially when nature calls!
If you love animals like we do, you might find it impossible to resist your cat distribution center membership. Kittens sure are adorable, and who could resist them? But we’d gladly cancel to stop the cycle of suffering found on the streets everywhere.
“This little kitten loves following me wherever I go and ABSOLUTELY loves me picking it up,” Nick shared.
