Sisters Sarah and Emily are a hit on social media, sharing hilarious and insightful videos about their daily lives in Rochester, New York. They’ve become local celebrities. But what many didn’t know until recently, is the sisters are huge cat lovers and rescuers. They love one another so much and absolutely have the funniest banter about life.

Although they’re generally “homebodies,” the sisters have plenty of activity from their cats, who can be seen doing Parkour through the home. Recently, they shared a video showing 10 cats, not including the many foster cats they care for.

The Sisters and Their 18+ Cats!
For the trending ‘A Quiet Place’ movie challenge, Sarah held the kitties and gently moved around with them. As we shared previously, actress Lupita Nyong’o’s character Sam has to run for her life carrying her beloved cat, Frodo. But as we all know, carrying a cat, even in the calmest of moments, doesn’t always work out: a cat always does what they want!
So, how would it work to try to carry a cat while evading imaginary scary monsters? (All while remaining absolutely silent!)
As it turned out, some kitties love being carried in a silly way. But others loudly wanted to be put down right away, a big fail if they were living in the post-apocalyptic Quiet Place. But it’s Emily’s laugh in the background that is definitely the best part of the video!
Note: As always, we don’t recommend doing anything that would make your cat uncomfortable. So please don’t try this trend at home if you know your cat won’t like it.

A Real-Life Nightmare for Sarah and Emily
As we know, rescuing and fostering always presents many highs and lows. Unfortunately, things seem to have recently hit a historic low point for the rescue the sisters work with, Headed For Furever, Inc. Right at the peak of the always-scary kitten season, their relatively new cargo van got hit by a falling tree and was totaled. It was a freak accident that came at the worst time as they were over-capacity with endless requests to save more cats and kittens.
“When I said “When it rains, it pours” I wasn’t asking for it to pour harder 😭” the rescue shared.

Without the van, transporting multiple feral cats to the vet 30-60 miles away becomes a real-life nightmare.
As you can see below, they save large number of feral cats through their TNR (trap, neuter, return) program.
Since the vet provides essential care, they may have to close their doors.
With all rescues in generally overwhelmed in the New York City area, every effort small and large helps! And this rescue helps hundreds of cats and prevents thousands of others from suffering in the future.
As a last-ditch effort, Headed For Furever’s Morgan McCarty created a GoFundMe. So far, they’ve raised over $1.2K with a $20K goal to get another cargo van.
Rescuing is Their World
As with any rescue, they have also contended with ongoing high veterinary costs and heartbreaks. It’s generally an emotional rollercoaster at the best of times and would be impossible without ongoing community support. Let’s help these cat lovers continue their life saving work!
“This rescue is my world. It’s my full heart and soul. I have fostered over 200+ cats in my 4+ years. I have spent nights sleeping on the floor next to dying kittens. I have done CPR on cats/kittens in my arms. I have taken in cats from the unthinkable in terms of abuse and neglect. Those who know me well, know that I eat, sleep and breathe rescue,” shared Sarah.
