Sometimes, a kitten’s cuteness just leaves you feeling stunned in disbelief. How can they be real and that adorable?! Even after seeing countless babies over the years, it can still be overwhelming. For your consideration, here’s Barry, the kitten from Minnesota. In his short life he’s become a TV star and is helping countless other cats in the state.

In late June, Barry arrived at a rescue with his tiny, frail brother Larry, who sadly passed away from possibly congenital issues. Shortly afterward, Barry had to travel to another of their dedicated foster homes to avoid a dangerous viral outbreak. Fortunately, he didn’t catch the virus. Safe in his new surroundings, he instantly stunned folks who saw him online.

It just doesn’t get any cuter than this little blue-eyed tuxie kitten! And he knows it!

“Barry wants you to know he is definitely winning all of his wrestling matches. 😻😹 So fierce!” shared Camp Wobbly Cat’s Kris Kaiser.

Barry has reached the robust potato with legs phase of kitten development and often has the wiggles. He rolls about on his back looking so silly it would be impossible not to rub that potato belly!

“Barry has the wiggles 😹” shared Camp Wobbly Cat.

Every move this baby makes, he gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling. It’s just the kitten therapy we need right now.

Barry the Kitten Made His Television Debut!

Soon after arriving in foster care, Barry the kitten became a TV star! He appeared on local news with three rescuers for a very important press conference (see more below). Following his debut, he was ready to start a meowdeling career and maybe an “Only Fans!”

“Barry thought after his television debut yesterday, he should work on the next stage of his career, meowdeling. These are some of the poses he came up with for his upcoming only fans account for exclusive Barry belly content, 😹” joked Camp Wobbly Cat.

Barry the Kitten Helps TNR Efforts in Minnesota!

On July 8, 2024, Barry became a spokeskitten of animal advocates in Minnesota after the Animal Humane Society stopped free spay and neuter surgeries on July 1! What the fluff. Instead, they implemented a $75 surrender fee due to a $3.5 million budgetary shortfall. In response, the community rallied for an emergency fundraiser for TNR (trap, neuter, return) efforts (see video below).

Wonderfully, they all spoke at a press conference about the ongoing rescue and TNR efforts. As they raised important points, Barry and friends weighed in with tiny mews and purrs for added emphasis.

“TNR Works. Every cat we trap and care for is a life saved and a step towards controlling the feral and stay cat population,” said TNR rescuer Brianne Tushaus. “It’s a commitment to making our community a better place for both the animals and our neighbors.”

Although folks may not see stray or feral cats in their neighborhoods, they are most assuredly there. And without TNR, they will be seeing more and more sick and struggling cats and kittens.

“Every city is affected. I’ve heard people say I don’t see feral cats in my city. Tell me your city. I will tell you where the pockets are because we have gotten calls and kittens surrendered from every city in the Twin Cities. So, there are feral cats in every neighborhood. You just don’t see them,” Bitty Kitty Brigade’s Jacky Wilson said.

Pet Project Rescue started an Emergency Fundraiser that has raised over $8K with a $25K goal.

Rest In Peace to Camp Wobbly Cat’s ‘Whirlwind Natalie’

We previously shared stories about Camp Wobbly Cat fosters with cerebellar hypoplasia, Whirlwind Natalie and Snapple. Rest in Peace to sweet Natalie, who enjoyed a happy life but recently passed to aggressive cancer.

Fly high, Natalie; you were a very special angel with an incredible foster mom and loving family. And your story helped so many other cats that will find homes because of your life story.

“Natalie 💖🌈💔 Rest in peace. July 2021 – June 2024″
