A busy junkyard in Washington, DC, is a dangerous place for a tiny fluffball. Yet such desolate places often become the setting for kittens each spring, with all the metal structures, endless hiding spots, and rodents scurrying around for a hungry mother cat to nourish her litter.
But when demolition started at the junkyard, a frightened mother cat had no time to react. In the panic, she ran away, carrying one tiny kitten in her mouth. That left two kittens behind, and they were only six days old.
Wall-E and Eve Were Alone In the Junkyard
While the junkyard workers were tearing down a fence, they saw the feral mother cat run away. That’s when they discovered Wall-E and Eve, a brother and sister, and reached out to volunteer rescuers at Tails High.
The rescuers wisely advised the workers to keep the kittens in place as the mother would likely return. Unfortunately, the day went by without a sign of her. At that point, the kittens were in danger, with temperatures dropping for the night. As they continued searching for the mother, the duo went to an experience bottle baby expurrt with Beanie Baby Fosters.
“Have you seen the movie Wall-E? What a super cute theme for our little junkyard babies. Wall-E (grey male) and his sister Eve (black female),” shared Beanie Baby Fosters.
With their foster mom’s care, Wall-E and Eve reached three weeks old, and that’s when their big purrsonalities emerged.
“Happy 3ish weeks, Wall-E and Eve! These little nuggets are growing so quickly. They’re walking (sort of) and starting to show their personalities. Wall-E is a huge drama queen! Eve, calm and quiet; both are super sweet.”
An Unexpected Reunion With Their Lost Sister
All that time, the kittens’ finder kept an eye out for their mama in the junkyard. And it’s a good thing because they discovered Axiom, the remaining kitten. Unfortunately, the feral cat once more ran off, leaving her wandering around and crying for help with dangers everywhere.
Once more, they watched for the mother to return. But a day later, Axiom also needed rescue. After weeks of separation, she arrived at the same foster home as her siblings. However, she couldn’t safely rejoin them until she passed a quarantine period, just to be safe.
To think, the trio had never seen one another before. When they were lost in the junkyard, their eyes were not yet open. How would they react?
When Axiom could finally meet her sister and brother, they went straight into wrestling and playing like they’d never been apart!
“Welcome Axiom 🤍🖤 The sister of Wall-E and Eve.”
The Junkyard Crew
Now six weeks old, the ‘Junkyard Crew’ was almost ready to take on the world. Axiom fit right in, a charming blend of her two siblings’ purrsonalities.
“This little junkyard crew is full of personality!! They are a little sassy and lots of sweet. I adore this little trio. I’m so happy Axiom was found, as she really completes this little family. She’s the perfect mix of both Wall-E & Eve.”
At eight weeks old, kittens’ eyes and coat color started changing in the most beautiful ways! But Axiom is particularly stunning.
As you can see, Axiom has the most beautiful smokey stripes and metallic eyes with a fearless, snuggly purrsonality to match.
“Look at this beauty 👀 Axiom!! Happy 8 weeks to my smol little girl!! She is sassy and fearless and loves her snuggles 💕 She defines tiny but mighty. I adore this little survivor.”
A Stunning Trio Ready For the World
The junkyard crew continued to grow into meowdels, ready to tackle the world! Hopefully, someone in the DC area will adopt them together. After all that they’ve been through, don’t you think the junkyard crew should stay together furever?
“It will be a bittersweet day when they go to their forever family, but this is why we do what we do,” the foster mom explained.
