If a cat could star in your favorite childhood fantasy movie, what would it be? What if you could replace the lead with a cat? Imagine the pawsibilities if Marmalade starred in the upcoming Mufasa: The Lion King. Or what if Mazikeen (Maz) was the star of Barbie? What would that look like?
As it turns out, one of our favorite accomplished feline actresses, OwlKitt (aka Lizzy), has taken on a colorful parody of Barbie. Hey, Maz could be a stand-in for OwlKitty, couldn’t she? Have your agents call us if you need an understudy or a cameo, Lizzy!

Barbie Starring OwlKitty!
The world of Barbie is nothing if not explosively colorful, and OwlKitty is surrounded by a sea of pink. Not since cat-themed Peeps dioramas have we seen a more whimsical pastel environment for cats.

In the Barbie world, the best day is every day for OwlKitty. She can lounge in the pool on floating flamingo, eat from the pink countertops, and sleep all day long. It’s B̶a̶r̶b̶i̶e̶’s̶ OwlKitty’s world. Life in plastic, it’s fantastic!
Ken’s World Revolves Around B̶a̶r̶b̶i̶e̶ OwlKitty
In this Barbie universe, Ryan Gosling or Ken only has eyes for OwlKitty.
“Ken only has a great day if kitty looks at him. He doesn’t care about anyone else,” says the narrator.
Together, OwlKitty and Ken have the best time ever. Move over Margot Robbie as Barbie; there’s a new apple in Ken’s eyes. Sorry ’bout it.
“Even though she sometimes leaves a hairball, or takes up the whole bed, she makes him feel Kenough.”
It looks like there’s a love triangle in this movie, and the feline charms have won over Ken. Even so, OwlKitty does her best to comfort the heartbroken plastic icon. We still love you, Barbie, but a cat always has a way to steal the show! (And the man, in this case.)
A Kitty Girl in a Kitty World
In the plastic world, Barbie reigns supreme.
“I’m a Barbie girl in the Barbie world. Life in plastic, it’s fantastic,” as the Aqua song, ‘Barbie Girl,’ goes.
But in this parody, there’s a new Kitty girl in a Kitty world. It’s a fluffier place and Ken doesn’t seem to mind one bit!
