We love finding new ways to enrich cats’ lives, and technology is taking it in new ameowzing directions. We know that cats respond to soothing sounds and music. One of their supurrpowers is making healing purr vibrations. Some cats are even in rock bands, having learned how to ‘play’ instruments. Now, there’s a way anyone can allow their cat to become a piano player at home!

Cats Create Sweet Meowlodies on This Piano

Aaron Benetiz, known for his viral videos about his cat Prince Michael, has teamed up with an engineer to create a ‘Pet Piano.’ The tiny instrument works with a built-in treat dispenser, and it looks really easy for pets to learn how to play.

You might be thinking, “Do I want to hear my cat banging on tiny piano keys all day?” Well, that could get a little old, couldn’t it? But with technology, the sounds pets create come out sounding soothing and melodic. (meowlodic?) And an app allows customizing so you and your cat enjoy the impromptu purrformances.

A Musical Treat Dispenser

Aaron is offering pre-orders on his “Aaron’s Animals” sites for the Pet Piano. (Cole and Marmalade are not affiliated in any way but FLUFF are we wrestling with the idea of getting one! Haha). The cat dad worked with another cat lover to create the musical treat dispenser, which has some really impressive features.

Where did this idea come from? He wanted to create something to keep Michael entertained.

“It all started with a simple question: What if I could design a feeder that teaches my pet?” Aaron explained.

Now, Prince Michael had a new hobby and stays mentally stimulated. Rather than lazing around, the kitty is more active and having more fun during the day.

“It’s all about rekindling that primal joy of making him work for his meals,” Aaron said. “This work he’s doing now gives him fulfillment and a renewed sense of purpose.”

And it’s simple for pets to learn how pushing the keys results in a treat! It’s a lot like the treat dispensers with a remote button, which can also help cats stay healthy and trim. But this one looks a bit easier as far as training them to push the keyboard of buttons.

We love that it works with many animals: dogs, cats, bunnies and even a raccoon! A bunny piano concert? Wow! Who saw that coming?

Bunny Beethoven?

On the last one, we wouldn’t recommend it since feeding raccoons is illegal in some places, like Florida. But that raccoon playing is super cute (See video below)!

Budding Beethovens

The video from ‘Smart Solutions for Home’ explains how the pet piano idea came about. At first, electronics engineer Sebastian thought his friend had “lost his marbles,” but as a cat dad himself, he couldn’t resist the project.

“I have two cats myself, so I just couldn’t say no to such a project,” Sebastian said. “Just to be clear, this isn’t a gimmick. It’s meant to be a real functional mini-piano that, with a bit of patience, will turn your cat into a budding Beethoven.”

Sorry, artists, it looks like just a matter of time before cats take over the music industry. Before we know it, they’ll probably take over what jobs are left entering prompts for AI, too. Sigh.

Do-it-Yourself Cat Piano?

Below, Sebastian explains how you could create your own piano for your pet. But considering all these features, it might be a challenge! You can see that so much planning and know-how went into making this pet piano really special. We like that he used wood instead of cheap plastic too!
