Some days, it’s hard to remember there are good folks in the world, but then we see something like this that reminds us. For every bad apple, there are vastly more good folks willing to go to great lengths to save a kitten in distress. Faith in humanity – restored a little each time.

This video of a very kind Human Officer sure brought a big smile to our faces and to many others online.

Humane Officer Hits the Pavement to Save Trio of Cuties

Florida ‘Cat Cop’ Gretchen Byrne shared another kitty rescue, but this time, it was her friend in action. Humane Officer Karin arrived at the drive-through of a McDonald’s, where three very lucky kittens were hiding underneath the hood of a red car. Thankfully, a witness spotted them dangling under the car and alerted the driver!

“Our Humane Officer extraordinaire Karin doing her thing!! These three potatoes took a ride in a car engine to a local McDonalds 🤦‍♀️. Lucky for them someone saw them dangling from under the car at the drive thru. Unlucky for them the ice cream machine was broken,” shared Byrne on Instagram.

As you can see below, it was a big effort to get the kittens out of there, and the pavement was hot in the Florida sunshine. But she kept at it until the furballs with needle-sharp claws and “teefers” were all safe. As you can see, these are relatively big guys that can easily be a squirming handful for anyone.

Consider the extreme luck that the trio made it to the restaurant alive, were spotted, and then rescued. It was also so lucky they came out of hiding and didn’t retreat further into the dangerous car engine.

Now, thanks to Officer Karin, the trio will have it made at Officer Byrne’s Kitten Academy (BKA).

“They are long hair, gorgeous and coming to the BKA ❤️ let’s give a big round of applause 👏 to Karin for melting into the hot South Florida pavement to save these guys!”

Fluffy Easter Nuggets

Back safely at home, these kittens’ cuteness was too much, even for the long-time rescuer. They are ridiculously cute, and now everyone is excited to find out what their names will be! Will they be Easter Peeps? Or Fast Food felines?

As for the kittens, they were super excited to spend Easter 2024 with Officer Byrne.

“Never seen anyone soo excited for Easter 🐣 🐰,” she shared.

What a heroic rescuer Officer Karin was for these cuties that day. And to think, such beautiful babies came out of a hot car engine at a drive-through!

Knock for Cuties Before You Drive

This story is another reminder: Before you start those engines, remember to knock on your car hood. You never know who may be hiding there, especially during prime ‘Kitten Season.’ That season can be all year in warmer states like Florida and California.

“Guys!!!! Ghaaaaaaaaghhhh!! He is soo cuteeeeee❤️❤️❤️,” wrote Byrne.
