What’s something that your cat hates? Is it when you move them from their comfy chair? What about when the litter box isn’t clean to their standards? How about if they just can’t seem to reach that bird while they sit in the window? It could be all of those things or none of those things. However, Jackson Galaxy’s got the scoop for us on what exactly it is that cats hate.

Do Cats Hate Chaos?

Max from Team Cat Mojo.

Cats Are Like Furry Sundials

Mr. Galaxy took to his Instagram, @thecatdaddy, to weigh in on the ages-long debate.  According to him, the answer is yes!

“Minimize the chaos, maximize the mojo.”

Have you heard of stories of cats acting strangely all of a sudden? Or possibly lashing out at someone when they’re normally lovable? A reason they act like this could be a disturbance in their life. Cats need balance. And introducing change? Forget it.

Cats are not fans of chaos. They like things structured. They like their day-to-day activities to be the same every single day. Do you have a ritual or routine you do every day in the same order? Get up, use the bathroom, shower, drink coffee, and start the day. Rinse and repeat. Cats do the same thing. One thing Mr. Galaxy says is they love to follow the sun around the house and lay on beds like “little sundials.” And don’t forget those clockwork 3 am zoomies around the house.

“Cats like knowing that their day is gonna look like it did yesterday.”

Do Cat Owners Agree?

All around, cat owners pretty much agree! Instagram users commented on Mr. Galaxy’s video with their own opinions on cat behavior.

“Yep! People who don’t like or understand cats probably had a bad experience because their cat was subjected to chaos and acts out because life isn’t balanced.”-valnmac

“I LOVE working from home with my cat and our daily routine. I treasure each new day and I’m thankful for all the extra time I never thought I’d have with her since I started working at home during the pandemic 😻😻”-laken_holly

Cat hate not lying on laptop.

There’s one particular person, however, who said her cat is the opposite:

“One of my 3 cats might be the exception from the rule😂 She thrives in new situations and gets depressed and bored easily of toys, games or if things are the same. We take her for leash walks and even on holiday and she will feel comfortable sleeping with us in a hotel. She loves to explore and investigate anything new. She rarely gets scared.”

Some cats are outgoing and do seem to thrive in new situations. When that happens, people often say they are acting like dogs, but purrhaps they are just exceptionally outgoing cats? Again, we can compare it to people in that there are all kinds of personalities. But in general, Mr. Galaxy is right – most kitties are stressed without a steady, predictable routine just like us.
