One little rescued kitten is so cute; even his mess is adorable. Videos of him were among the favorite moments for a foster mom as she looked back on all the lives saved over the past year. And there were so many cute moments!

Foster mom Frankie shared the cutest video when the kitten at Best Friends Los Angeles nursery was having a “party in the litter box.” There was shredded newspaper clinging to his shaggy fur everywhere. But he didn’t care at all, sitting there looking like he was pleased as punch and having the best day ever.

“Party in the litter box!🎉 Little guy is in the nursery still learning; he’ll get there!” Frankie shared.

A Fluffy Mess with a Heart-Melting Smolder

Looking back over the past year as New Year’s Day approached, Frankie said this kitten was among her “absolute favorites.” He was among many cute furbabies she volunteered to help at the nursery, but his “heart-melting,” smoldering look won over everyone who saw him.

“This little cutie in the Best Friends Los Angeles nursery was one of my absolute favorites this year!🥰 Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas🎄 Can’t believe we are about to head into another year!🥺❤️”

As cute as he was, he surely went on to enchant a forever family. But there were only these two videos of him to fondly remember. Kittens grow up in the flash of an eye, making moments like these all-the-more treasured.

Looking Back at a Year of Fostering

The foster mom encourages everyone to try fostering to save lives in the New Year. Along with the occasional heartbreaks, and “foster fail” adoptions, there are so many memorable, happy memories. She also shared a recap of the kittens of 2023, explaining why she can’t adopt them all. People never stop asking fosterers this question.

It’s always heartbreaking to say goodbye, but letting kittens find homes means saving more unforgettable lives. Those lives touch the foster providers and families forever. Often, adopters share pictures and stories about their kitties in their new homes, and occasionally there are joyful reunions. Not infrequently, lifelong friendships grow.

“Rescues like Best Friends provide all the supplies needed and are always there to support!🙌🏼,” Frankie explained. “When you foster a pet it also opens up a kennel space for the rescue to go save MORE!! It’s true what they say: FOSTERING SAVES LIVES!!💗💗”
