Arthur, the charming orange and white tabby, has a long story, one that so many adult cats out there have. Despite being “super sweet,” handsome, and chatty, the right furever family hasn’t adopted him in the Bronx area. It’s been over three years! As wonderful as he is, he deserves a home where he’ll be put on his rightful throne and treated like a King.

Back in August of 2021, the friendly cat was doing his best to survive in a parking lot. He had to depend on the kindness of strangers, but his charms helped him considerably. Then, in the spring of 2022, workers saw he had injured his paw and was limping, so they reached out for help.

Rescued from Life in the Parking Lot

A mom and daughter duo arrived to help and found him as friendly as could be despite the limp. Fortunately, his injury wasn’t serious, and he was in great overall health all considering. However, they didn’t want to return him to the dangerous location again.

That’s when the tabby’s life got so much better in foster care. He went from a temporary foster home to a long-term foster home. Through everything, Arthur was making the most of it and having a great time, snuggling and sunbathing.

“From living in a parking lot, sleeping on the floor, not knowing what it is to sleep on a bed, not having food or water, to now living in a home where he is unconditionally loved, spoiled and well care. This is really what dreams are made of!” shared Bronx Stray Cats when he first found a foster home in 2022.

A First Home for Arthur Didn’t Work Out

At one point, he got a chance for a furever family, but then returned shortly afterward because the home’s cats didn’t take kindly to him. (It generally takes months for any new cat to fully adjust to a new home and other pets.)

So, despite being a lovable purr monster, he went back into foster care again. He was just getting a taste of what it would be like to have a purrmanent home, but it wasn’t to last.

Arthur Awaits the Kingdom He Deserves

TNR (trap, neuter, release) expurrt Michelle Morales shared three videos about handsome Arthur, hoping to find him his furever home at last. But at the time of this writing, he’s still looking despite being such a loving and handsome distinguished gentleman.

As you can see, the story of Arthur’s rescue is a long one, and this is just one adult cat who needs a home. Populations of friendly stray cats are booming in New York City as warmer temperatures have extended the “kitten season” significantly. Although there’s no official tally of all the stray and feral cats in New York City, it may be around one million.

So many of them like Arthur are wonderfully friendly and need a safe, loving home.
