What is the world coming to when a gorgeous, friendly, blue-eyed Siamese waits in foster care for well over a year to find a home? A mom and daughter rescued the pretty Lynx Point back in June 2022. But he’s been waiting for a home since.
One day, June appeared at a cat colony they were caring for, but the cat was obviously someone’s pet. He was doing head bumps on the fence and wanted to be petted. At one year old, his family had abandoned him on the streets of the Bronx. He was struggling to survive but super friendly regardless.
“June is a suuuuper sweet cat, super smart and gets along with other cats. Ps: June has been the first cat we have brought home and has get along with our resident cats. No fights at all!” they shared.
Adult cats often wait so much longer to find homes, even this purrfect stunner.
“June is a handsome male Siamese Lynx Point, approximately 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and is negative for FeLV/FIV/hw. June is a very affectionate cat, super smart, loves to play and gets along with other cats, 🥰” Bronx Stray Cats shared.
The Months Fly By for June
After his first anniversary in foster care arrived, his foster mom shared a video. It was mystifying why nobody had scooped him up such a healthy, happy cat to give him a loving home. While June likes cats, he hasn’t been around dogs. Otherwise, he’s perfection and needs a house cat’s full-time indoor life.
“We can’t believe we have been fostering June for almost a year (341 days) and he still hasn’t found a forever home. 💔 He is such a sweet cat he deserves a family who will love him for the rest of his life. 😢” shared Bronx Stray Cats.
A Clean Bill of Health
Recently, the handsome cat went to see his veterinarian, Dr. Kolbert, who is so kind with all the fosterer’s rescues. After experiencing a bit of car sickness, he was up to date on his vaccines and is a robust big boy at 11.5 pounds.
Back at home, he got a bath and wasn’t keen on it, but was fresh and clean again.
Despite stinking up the car, he got a clean bill of health. But he is still waiting for his forever home. After being abandoned, he was likely very anxious about being in a car again and didn’t want to be left alone again. Can you blame him?
This cat was loved once and one wonders what reason someone had to abandon him. Many are struggling, but there are alternatives to abandoning a pet. Reach out for help or suggestions with a local rescue group or veterinarian because so many people are ready to help. If they can’t help, they will usually point in the right direction.
