Star Wars, Sci-Fi fans, and cat lovers will adore this rescue story from a galaxy far, far away. Actually, it’s from Columbus, Ohio, so maybe not that far for some. A beautiful mama cat, Princess Leia and her seven kittens arrived at Little Boo Rescue, the apparent secret base for a kitten rebellion.

These furbabies were dubbed the Star Wars Litter, and were ready to take on the galaxy.

One of the girls received the name Omega, a female character from the expanded Star Wars universe. What a cutie!

The resourceful and bold Prince Leia snuck into a kind family’s home to seek refuge for her seven kittens, two of which were from a previous litter.  These older brothers, Han Solo and Chewbacca, were already of age to fly away to a new home in the Millennium Falcon.

That left the Princess, Rey, Lando, Omega, Yoda, and Vader!

“Everything you’ve heard about me is true,” says Lando.

In this saga, the dueling opposites of the force, Yoda and Vader, are the fluffiest of house panthers.

“Judge me by my size, do you?” asks Yoda.

Below, we have epic villain Vader, doing his best to look menacing, although we’re not convinced.

“You underestimate the power of the dark side,” says Vader.

Star Wars Kittens Travel to New Worlds

Unlike most rescues, all the Star Wars kittens quickly found homes. No doubt, their fosterers’ creativity helped connect the kittens with the purrfect families. In a digital world, using such creativity, skill, and storytelling goes a long way in the ongoing struggle to save rescued animals.

As noted, the first of the Star Wars kittens to travel to their furever homes were Chewbacca and Han Solo. We love knowing they’ll have a lifetime of adventures together!

Wonderfully, it didn’t take long for the others to find homes. Rey grew into a beauty, the Daisy Ridley of kitties.

Meanwhile, Yoda and Vader are out there secretly using the force somewhere near Columbus.

Finally, a fluffy Omega grew into a stunner and enjoys peaceful days snoozing in the sunshine.

Prince Leia Ready to Find New Rebel Base

That left Princess Leia, who may still be looking for her future Rebel Base at the time of this writing. Who knew it would be in the Delaware, Ohio, area?

“Princess Leia, the mother of all our ‘Star Wars’ kittens, bound to steal your heart with her peaceful purr! Leia is guessed to be about 2-3 years old, and after sneaking her way into a very kind family’s household, she has found her way to LBR. She has had 2 litters that we are aware of, but fortunately, she will not have to go through pregnancy again,” the rescue shared.

The independent, loyal, and affectionate princess raised her babies, saw them adopted, and now it’s her turn. Adult cats often have a much longer wait but make ideal companions in quiet homes where kitten energy may be overwhelming.

Maybe, someone out there is reading this right now and is ready looking for an elegant princess to pamper?
