An Oregon foster mom, Sheila, raised Bat, Goblin, and Vamp, three tiny and sickly house panthers or “lap gremlins.” They arrived at 2 weeks old when someone abandoned them at a vet clinic after their mother died.

The kittens arrived just in time for the Halloween season with “gorgeous smoke-colored” highlights on their black fur. Their eyes hadn’t even opened yet.

Thanks to Sheila, the struggling kittens recovered, their blue eyes opened, and they became the “three sweetest babies ever.”

Bat, Goblin, and Vamp

Thousands loved watching Bat, Goblin, and Vamp’s daily antics and progress. For instance, here’s a very sleepy Goblin trying to resist a nap.

Below, fluffy Vamp attempts to feed on Sheila’s socked foot.

“Vamp doesn’t look like he needs another bottle, but he’s threatening to eat my toe if I don’t feed him again. “

The kittens had no worries in foster care, rolling around with their plump bellies showing.

“Sweet little Bat and Goblin. Full tummies and empty heads. 😂”

Uncle Gumby Show How to Clean a Bat Cat

Recently, we shared the story of Sheila’s lovable rescued Sphynx Cat, Gumby and adopted Peanut Butter, who help raise the lil’ goblins in the home. They were so wonderful with Bat, Goblin, and Vamp.

At the end of October, Sheila caught Vamp trying to act big and scary as Gumby looked on.

“I survived a bear attack today.”

Goblin Eyes Changing Colors

By early November, the kitten’s blue eyes transformed colors.

Sheila noticed that Bat’s eyes had changed from blue to greenish to gold. Meanwhile, her brother’s eyes were slowly changing green at the time.

By now, the kittens were old enough to begin a new chapter in their lives. They would soon be ready for adoption at the Oregon Humane Society. Sometimes, it takes a long time for kittens and cats to find homes. Black cats still tend to have a longer wait. But not for these lucky three, who found their home in days.

New Lives for the Lap Gremlins

It was hard for everyone to see Bat, Goblin, and Vamp go, and most of all, for their foster mom. But by letting go, she can save countless other lives.

We see that Vamp became Laszlo, grew big ear tufts, and has many new friends to share his life with.
