A kitten with a bold mustache reminds thousands of fans of Groucho Marx, Freddie Mercury, or Frank Zappa. She is known as Mostaccioli and has thousands of fans since first appearing on Instagram in December 2020.

Most people probably know her for her resemblance to Freddie Mercury, the iconic Queen frontman. It’s fitting since he was a cat lover whose cats “were his family,” according to his longtime assistant.

Sometimes, Mostaccioli’s fans ask if she will appear in a version of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Mostaccioli Has a Double Mustache
Technically, Mostaccioli has a “double mustache” with a similar marking on her right paw.
“If I put this paw up to my face I’ll still have my mustache.”

Mostaccioli (nickname Mosta) is now almost 2 years old (at the time of this writing) and has equally cute siblings.
- Izanami – nicknamed Nami, who arrived as a plump kitten for Natalie’s birthday
- Kirara and Czernabog Cirrus, rescued from Ukraine
- Pyro, the “Pirate King Luffy,” adopted from Cats of San Bernardino
- Castle the “cloud with teeth,” a fluffy dog.
All live in sunny California.

Mostaccioli was Born in a Garden
Although it’s so perfect it looks painted on, Mostaccioli’s mustache has been there from day one. However, her mom Natalie didn’t realize it at first. She discovered the kitten among a litter of four in her mother’s garden, as she told Bored Panda. They were drenched and muddy.
“Mom said I’m a gift from the heavens when she rescued my siblings and I from our muddy nest,” Natalie shared.
A small feral cat had given birth in the garden. Carefully, Natalie managed to catch her, caring for the cat family safe inside her home. Once cleaned up, Natalie spotted Mostaccioli’s cute mustache and just knew she would be a “foster fail.” It was a surprise to find a kitten with such a comical marking, and Natalie was smitten. But the kitten’s three brothers found purrfect other forever homes.

Emerald-Eyed Mustache Panther
The emerald-eyed kitten is supurr photogenic, appearing like an animated cat come to life.

This “mustache panther” also has striking black toe beans. Just a beautiful and unusual kitty in every way.
Most days, she can be seen wrapped around her cuddly sister Izanami. The two are lovebugs, bathing one another and doing everything together.

Charlot the Moustache Cat
Mostaccioli’s cute markings resemble another famous kittie, Charlot, the Moustache Cat from Portugal. He lives with Olivia, a grey kitten rescued from the street.
“And this was when it all started and when we decided to create this Instagram account. ❤️ What would we do without you? 🥺”

Charlot was adopted after being born on a family farm. His name comes from Charlie Chaplin’s movie character name in Portugal.
