It’s likely that “shock and awe” were the exact reactions the artist was going for here. And I cannot imagine many people who discover the surrealist Instagram page of @selfatsy NOT having to take a second look. Is that a cats whisker I see? And what I tend to wonder most when viewing art…just WHAT has this person gone through in their lives? Or is it “9 lives” all simultaneously exposed on these canvases?
But my favorite of these creative and mind-bending art pieces DO have the purrfect subject…cats.
And when there are cats involved, you really can’t go wrong. Because even what some may consider “odd” is mesmerizing.

Art can simply show another perspective without having to say a word at all.
I know I pretend my cats can talk and have their own little personality traits just like humans. But to see it through a surrealist “lens” though, is a different thing!
