In Lincolnshire, UK, a cat named Peanut has an interesting nightlife. Some cats hunt for bugs to later gift to their favorite human. Other cats like to play with the loudest toys they have, late at night while singing the songs of their people. But partying Peanut the cat, prefers to escape the house and go bar hopping. After becoming a regular at a local bar, staff decided to see if the party animal had a home.

Bar Cat Peanut Becomes a Regular

One summer night, the staff at the Vat & Fiddle taproom noticed they had a unique visitor. The tabby quickly became a pub regular and a social media sensation. While weaving in and out of the patrons, he easily became a favorite visitor to all. He even has a scratchy little meow that earned him the name “Screech”. But being that he was so friendly, people wondered if he had a home. Some of the staff at Castle Rock Brewery, another pub associated with Vat & Fiddle, decided to investigate and search for his owners.

Where is home, little buddy?

After failed attempts to find his owners on social media, staff decided to take him to the vet. He WAS chipped and there was information about his home and his owners, Charley Rawlings and Sam Bharma! The vet staff reached out to Rawlings right away to inform her they had her cat.

“Staff at the vets said he had been staying at a brewery, so I just typed on Facebook’ Nottingham cat brewery’ and all the posts they had been making came up!” she revealed.

After finding his owners, the staff at Vat & Fiddle were surprised to find out that “Screech” was actually named “Peanut”. And the little party animal had walked over 30 miles from home to come hangout at the taproom. Some people won’t travel that far in a car, let alone walk! The drinks and the vibes at the tap room must be ameowzing! They later all agreed that he likely hopped into a beer delivery van to get from point A to B.

Some heart-warming news! Our resident feline friend – also known as Peanut, has been reunited with his owners! 🐾 After somehow making the journey all the way from Lincoln, Peanut made himself at home at the brewery and completely stole our hearts – we’re over the moon that he’s now back where he belongs. ❤️ Peanut even celebrated his very first birthday at the Vat and Fiddle – what a legend! 🎂 Here are a few snaps of him settling back into home life. 🏡 We’ll miss you, Peanut. Thanks for being part of the team – even if just for a little while. ❤️🍻

The bar hopping doesn’t stop!

Peanut’s owners tried to put a collar on him after the incident. However he wasn’t going for it. And apparently Peanut wanted them to know that the party wasn’t going to stop! Because less than a month after his bar hopping escapade, Peanut returned to the taproom again! This time his owners knew where to look for him and were able to get him back home right away.

“Looks like Peanut came back to cash in his loyalty points!” the brewery joked, adding, “Luckily, we were able to reunite him with his owners once again. Here’s hoping he stays put at home this time (though we did love seeing him again!).”

This time Peanuts owners weren’t as worried thankfully. They joked with the staff and agreed Peanut the party animal would indeed, likely be back.
“You hear of cats going missing and turning up miles from home – but not a cat doing it twice and to the same location,” warehouse manager Simon Belshaw told Nottinghamshire Live.

“We love having him around and he is always very welcome, but I’m not sure his parents are thrilled with his habit,” the bar’s general manager said.
