Those who love cats often share an affinity for the finer things in life: books, fine wine, coffee or tea, art and design. But we also love to laugh at some not-so-sophisticated things. Cats are expurrts at teaching us to live in the now and not take things too seriously, after all.

What happens when you combine a love for cats, artistry, and the silly? For one artist from Ontario, it led her down an extremely funny path less traveled. There, she found a way to show us cats like we weren’t expecting. And we love it!

Cats in Stained Glass Like You Might Not Expect!

We came across the stained glass art by Gabby, whose cat and dog creations might stop observers in their tracks to laugh!0

“I am your friendly neighborhood glass butthole specialist,” she says on her page for Ding Dong Glass.

Can you imagine the reactions to seeing these stained glass pieces hanging in the window?

As you can see on Instagram, they capture the majesty of cats from a perspective that’s just – ridiculous! Who knew that cat-themed stained glass could be so funny? And the artist’s reels are surprisingly hilarious, too.

Capturing Light-Hearted Laughs in Stained Glass

Clearly, Gabby’s original designs are all about making people laugh. “I have a passion for creating silly stained glass pieces that make my heart happy. I love making people laugh, and I hope my art makes your day a little brighter and your smile a little wider :),” she wrote.

While some artists suffer for their art, she does her light-hearted work part-time for fun. After a stressful day, making them is calming. But who would think to create stained glass cat buttholes? Gabby would, and she keeps making innovations that make them even funnier. For example, light-refracting crystal buttholes!

Or what about a stained glass cat, complete with their dangling trouble nuggets to sway in the breeze? Of course, we always encourage spaying and neutering, but in the case, they can’t get into any trouble. So we can fully endorse them!

And recently, there are even specially created custom beaded “poopers” sure to raise your neighbor’s eyebrows.

A Hole New World of Glass Cats

You might be wondering, “How do I get one?” or “Are people really buying those?” As it turns out, these beauties are in such high demand the glass art is frequently sold out. There are, however, cute sticker designs are currently available on her website.

Online, people are finding “a hole new world” (as one fan put it) of stained glass they didn’t know they were missing. And they’re laughing the way Gabby had intended from the beginning to the sparkly end. Sometimes, the stained glass buttholes go on road trip adventures. So, you never know what scenic location they’ll show up next!

“Did you know that wrapped tails are a sign of love and friendship? Much like wrapping your arms around your friend and giving them a warm embrace 🤗 The tail wrap is a kitty hug! ❤️”

On occasion, Gabby’s art has also benefitted her local human society. We think the ones with the family jewels would be purrfect for raising awareness for getting pets spayed and neutered. However, we join the artist in asking everyone not to copy her unique designs.

You can see more of her work on Instagram at Ding Dong Glass and on her website.

The Original Pooper

On her page, folks wanted to know, “Where did this idea come from?” Gabby answered that it all started from an unlikely inspiration, observing her German Shepherd, Rosie. That, and the full intention of making people laugh!

“I’ve always been drawn to creating, along with laughing about ridiculous things. When I got started with stained glass I mostly wanted to make people laugh with my art. I think what really kicked it off for me was being out in the backyard one day and waiting for my dog Rosie to finish her 💩… I noticed her poo-sition and it made me giggle… I thought “WOW, that would make a great suncatcher.” 😂 Then kinda spiraled off from there. You can see the original ‘pooper’ in my earlier reels. 💜 Thanks for your support and and thank you for being curious,” Gabby shared.
