For our next story, we travel to Scranton, Pennsylvania, for a feline reboot of The Office. Rather, they are actually in Manitoba, where rescuers are big fans of the sitcom classic. This real-life story has a sudden tragic plot twist, a miraculous recovery, and then “non-stop smiles and fun and purrs and cuddles.” What more could you want?!

The story begins when rescuers took in the kittens after their mama cat passed away. At the time, the furbabies were just over a week old. But foster moms Laura G. and Brooke stepped up to give them a chance at a happy life.

Brooke shared that the kittens’ eyes were open, so they suspected they were more like 10 to 14 days old. They had to be bottle-fed all night, every couple of hours.

Meet The Office Kittens

Here, the characters from the sitcom have transformed into adorable kittens. We have the irascible Dwight, the unintentionally hilarious boss Michael, and Jim and Pam, the offices main romance. Below, you can see The Office Kittens at three and a half weeks old.

“Introducing ✨ The Office ✨ Dwight – Michael – Jim – Pam,” shared Laura G.“Welcome to the family my little Office babies!”

Then, Laura shared an “*almost purrfect* group photo (there’s one in every office, right).” Michael did his best not to look at the camera.

Panleukopenia Hits the Foster Home

When everything was looking perfect, the foster home was struck with panleukopenia, Panleuk or FPV, and devastatingly, all the kittens caught it. The highly contagious virus is often deadly to young kittens. Thus, all kitten rescuers must be prepared for it and know what to look for. It took round-the-clock care, multiple medications, and even IV infusions to give these kitten any chance at survival.

Miraculously, Dwight, Michael, and Pam survived. However, little Jim suddenly passed away quickly despite all efforts. Throughout, he was constantly surrounded by love. Online, Laura G. and the Grateful Friends Animal Rescue received much support and donations as people rallied around The Office kittens.

Happily, Dwight, Michael, and Pam made unexpected, dramatic turnarounds, beating the deadly virus. It was certainly cause for celebration! Their appetites and goofy antics returned in full. And as expected, Michael remained a little awkward and clumsy like his TV counterpart. But as you can see, he’s quite the charmer!

With time, Michael’s mobility improved, and his funny antics made everyone laugh. As always, Dwight did his best to grab attention.

Happily, the remaining Office Kittens all continued to thrive. They reached the 2 pound milestone for spay/neuter and adoption day through Grateful Friends Animal Rescue. In foster care, they made many new friends, including larger pal MoMo, also a fortunate Panleuk survivor!

“If ever there was a time for a triple adoption, this is it,” wrote Laura G. “Just the cuddliest, happiest, most personable kitties ever. Non-stop smiles and fun and purrs and cuddles.”

Pam and Michael Start a New Life

In this feline version of The Office, closely bonded Pam and Michael went home together furever. How incredibly cute is this picture?

The rescuers described Pam like this:

“She is the leader in her litter and always the first to take on new adventures. She’s lively and playful and adores her cat tree. Pam and her brother Michael are very close. They went through their illness together and rarely leave each other’s side. You can even find them holding hands.”

You can see Pam is among the cutest kittens ever.

Dwight Finds Love and His Furever Home

Don’t worry though, Dwight found lots of love with a dog named Fern in foster care. He always did want to be the top dog on the show, so it makes sense! But then he found a home with two feline siblings and a big cat wheel, which is his very favorite toy. It’s fitting because there was also a wheel on the TV show! (The Chore Wheel, designed by Pam.)

“Mr Dwight. What can we say about Dwight? He is silly and always full of energy. He loves to play with his siblings and it is hilarious to watch him when he gets the zoomies,” shared Grateful Friends.
