A sweet cat was sick in a shelter medical ward but soon became like a fluffy ray of sunshine when her rescuer arrived.
“I rescued this sweet girl from the shelter, and this is how she greeted me,” shared LA rescuer Grace (see video below).
The Sweetest Thing on the Planet
The kitty started making biscuits and rolling around in her carrier all the way home. She was so happy to be saved and already so trusting and loving. She knew everything would be fine and relieved to be on the way to a new life.

Grace thought she must be “possibly the sweetest thing on the planet.”

Sunshine, the Very First Rescue
The shelter had named her Moose, but Grace named the fluffy ray of light Sunshine. She was her first rescue for The Happy Kitty Rescue that Grace Choi founded! Congratulations! Grace shared the happy news made possible thanks to kind supporters.
Unfortunately, Sunshine was dealing with a nasty upper respiratory infection, URI, as is common when stressed cats are held in shelters. But she just needed some TLC, medication, and a place to feel cozy and loved.
“It’s extraordinary how much a little TLC and a comfy/cozy environment can do for these kitties,” Grace said.
Contrast the way Sunshine looked on her way home with how she looked in her cage at the shelter below. She was sad and probably very scared until she spotted Grace.
A Serious Baker
Sunshine was so happy the next day in her foster home that she continued making biscuits endlessly, a hard-working baker.
“She is hands down the sweetest little girl I’ve ever rescued. All she wants to do is to lay on you and make biscuits. And she is serious about her biscuits… she works overtime to make sure every single order is perfect 🤭,” Grace said.
Two weeks later, the sweet kitty continued being so lovable though her URI was stubbornly persistent. Nevertheless, she continued to be “the most gentle and sweet soul” who trusted Grace to bathe her and went right back to making biscuits.
Her First Time Meeting Resident Uncle Joey
Just when you thought the cuteness couldn’t get more intense, Sunshine, now mostly over her URI, met the resident, former feral Joey, whose ameowzing story we’ve shared previously. As you can see, Sunshine and Joey were immediately lovebirds. They just met, and Sunshine decided to make Joey her pillow.
“Joey and Sunshine sitting in a tree…💕 It’s even cuter because they have matching middle parts 😆,” Grace said.

Oh, but the love fest just got more intense, and frankly, we’re not sure we can handle it. Joey had found his soul mate, and the videos continued of these two love each other endlessly.

Sunshine Shares Her Light with the Foster Babies
Sunshine has also taken on a new role in fostering the kittens along with Joey. Here she is with a tiny Badger who found a new home shortly after this cozy scene.
